899 At Last!..the Bst’s Have Arrived….
Finally after over 3 months of waiting ( don’t believe anyone who quotes 6-8 weeks! )my BST carbon wheels were delivered yesterday , these are the finishing touches to my bike,….possibly??
We all know that the rear wheel of the 899 is made of lead, but it’s not until you compare the feel in your hand that the difference sinks in..
A bit of fag packet maths here…
The comparison above is each wheel minus tyre only, so everything’s on the wheels that you need, discs, spacers, sprockets etc, just no tyres….just look at the saving on the rear wheel alone , ……….4.4 kgs!!, that’s mad !
Couldn’t wait to get them on the bike and try them, now I normally fit my own tyres but I just wouldn’t even attempt these, there’s virtually no well in the wheel and the rim bead is pretty big so I was stood outside of C&S tyres in Middlesbrough this morning before they even opened!

916 Ducati 916 Sps - The Imperfection Of Perfection
Hey everyone!
I think we all agree that the 916 SPS is an amazing bike. But it does have a few quirks, doesn't it?
Let's have a look at those -
Greetings From South Australia
Hi all, whilst I do live in Australia I am an English ex-Pat originally from Norfolk.
A month ago I decided to treat myself to a 2010/11 Hypermotard 1100 Evo after being away from bikes for 23 years, (my last bike being a new 748 SP and before that a 916 Monoposto). Over here it is winter so I’ve not actually bothered riding it yet - I’ve gone soft living here! The day I bought this, that afternoon after work I was planning to go and finalise a deal on a 939 HM but this popped up for sale that morning so went and looked at this first - it was as far as I got! Saw it, wanted it
The bike itself has only done 10,600km, and a previous owner has tricked it up quite a bit with various carbon bits, a full Termi 2-1 exhaust along with a PCV and tune. -

Hi guys. Selling my beautiful Ducati 900 Superlight. 1993 Mark 1 #110. I’ve owned it for the last couple of years and it was restored by a previous owner a few years before that. Rides brilliantly but does have some slight fuelling issues that need to be sorted. Comes with two keys, very comprehensive info around restoration, workshop manuals, service history, Abba stand, battery trickle charger etc. £8000. Going to stick in on the bay this weekend but wanted to stick it here first. PM me for more info cheers -

Back To Daily Commute
So I failed MOT back in sep 19 and then employed my daughter so had to buy a car so I could give her lift to work. Haven’t taken bike out till this week. traffic in london getting proper shit and my daughter moved out and got her own place so I thought fuck it , let’s get back on the road. Plus when I grow up I want to become mechanic anyway so I thought it would be a good practice.
Rolled her out
Got that chain off
And new one on
new wheel bearings
, pads all around, new battery, tires, oil, filter , all liquids
And fully good to go.
passed MOT with no advisories at the weekend and
so at ripe age of 47 I am back as a commuter ( not in the rain like old days but all sunny days I will be on it) -
Best Present Ever?
Just got this today from MrsX….nice! -
Bike T-shirts...
I’m not sure if it’s OK to post this here, so please feel free to move it
I’m a graphic designer by trade, but if I have a spare moment, I like doodling pics of bikes.
Over lock down work has been a bit thin on the ground to say the least, so I’ve had more than a few spare moments to do some drawing! I’ve used these drawings as the basis for some T-Shirt designs.
I’ve put a shop together on Etsy. There are a few Ducati designs up there, including my own 900SS, but mostly café racers and customs that I like the look of, the odd monkey bike, a few classics, plus some ‘workshop’ style designs thrown in for good measure.
So, if you’re in the market for a bike t-shirt, check out my store at:
www.etsy.com/shop/DemonRetail
Thanks for looking, Cheers...Joe -

916 Dropped Her Off
Just dropped her off at cornerspeed for a full desmo service with @nelly i know she will be looked after.
I will say I’ve never been into a garage where I’ve had as much confidence that the vehicle will be looked after. seeing the other nice bikes has made me want another Ducati.

Longest Day Up - Lands End To Jog On A 300 Quid Bike
A week today I’ll be in Penzance looking forward to the early start on Monday morning .
At sunrise I’ll be setting off an old Honda CBR1000f purchased for not much more than 300 quid and hoping to make it to John O’ Groats by dusk .
What could possibly go wrong ?
I did look for a Ducati for the trip , but couldn’t even find an engine in budget . Hopefully the big Honda is the right choice for over 1000 miles without one mile on a motorway . I’ve put on some motocross bars I had laying around so it’s a bit more comfortable and I can stand up to relieve the aching buttox as needed.
It’s going to be a real endurance test . I did a shake down run this week of over 650 miles , so have some confidence that the bike will make it at least
Charlie isn’t coming along, as it’s not going to be a fun trip , but she’s been on some training runs . It’s not just the long day ride , of course , I still have to get back home.
The plan is either to do the NC500 on the way back , or roll the bike... -

748 Sps.. Just Need To Get My License!
Hi All,
Very pleased to be here after recently purchasing my first Ducati, something I've always one day hoped I would own. I've been into bikes and bike racing since a youngster but in terms of riding myself I didn't get any further than my CBT, and a couple of needy 2 strokes (Aprilia RS125 and Yamaha RD125). I've stuck to cars ever since and got my two wheeled fix from cycling, but recently I started getting a bit bored of 4 wheeled offerings so decided it was time to get myself a motorbike, initially just to own - certain bikes to me are like works of art, I just love the form of them - and for this purpose it just had to be a Ducati!
I actually now have one real Ducati and one licensed one in the form of a Super Soco CUx Ducati edition, this is a 100% electric scooter and is a brilliant little machine, I use it for my 26 mile round trip commute on a daily basis at the moment. I technically bought this one first from Ducati Chelmsford but got my 748 before the scooter... -

Borgo Panigale, Bologna, 9 June 2021 - Ducati enriches the Diavel 1260 family for the 2022 Model Year with the presentation of the new Diavel 1260 S “Black and Steel”, which will be available in dealerships starting from July 2021.

Suzuki Gt250 Project
I’m picking this 1976 GT250 up on Saturday, it’s a German import so I’ll be having a fun time with the DVLA at some point, first though will be to assess what’s good and what’s not, it’s not intended to be a show winner when completed, just a useable bike, I had one of these when I was 17 so it’s a nostalgia trip as much as anything, anyway here’s the starting point, cheers Mark. -
For Sale 2008 Ducati 1098r - 4319 Miles - Excellent Condition
Hi Guys,
Unfortunately, it's time to part with my 1098R earlier than I expected, apparently buying a house is more important! Very reluctant sale as I've not yet used the bike as I planned to, however, having 2 kids since soon after buying the bike meant that the very little time I had for bikes, timed with when the weather was good, was usually spent on my 1299. Anyway, thought I'd offer it up here first before it most likely goes to a dealer.
This bike was originally pre-registered by Ducati UK in May 2008, before the June 1st deadline in order to make them eligible to run as homologated models in British Superbikes. The first owner then purchased the bike new in Dec 2008 from Ducati Moto Rapido, where the first service was also completed, and it has had further work completed at Ducati Laguna, and Ducati Cornerspeed.
The bike has covered only 4319 miles, 3600 miles of which were covered in its first 5 years. The MOT history is excellent with no advisories in its whole history...
