For Sale 1198s 2010
I have very reluctantly finally accepted that at 68 my 'mint' 1198s is just too much bike for me. It's a criminal waste for it to sit in my garage unused, so perhaps it's time to sell?
It's a 2010 purchased new (by me) from Ducati Manchester. 13345 miles. FSH. MoT to 22/09/21 Full belt service by Wayne at GTec last autumn. Brand new battery. Termi (slash) slip-ons & ECU fitted when new (Originals included). Carbon hugger & tank protector. Tail pack (Ducati). Abba stand. NB! Standard (original) screen now fitted, not the bubble in photo.
£9500 Contact me if interested. I'm in no rush. East Midlands. -
1299 First Purchase
TTX shock turned up today, and throttle spacers (possibly most expensive it of plastic ever) on their way.
Physio Friday and see how fast I can sort my calf out so ready to roll soon as weather picks up. Tax it in March for essential shopping runs -
748 Bought A Dodgy 748 Of A Bloke Down The Pub.
(Mods, feel free to delete this as it might not be appropriate for this forum.)
Pre lockdown I was at the pub and after a few, got offered an old 748 that needed some work. It's a very unusual one as it's on the small side in every respect. Anyway it's fully rebuilt now and sits along side my other yellow 748. -
Duc From Down Under
Hi folks, been lurking around here for a while, enjoying the piss taking from afar (Western Australia). Thought it only fair I start contributing to the mayhem.
A few too many years ago I kinda had the right bike, a 916 built to SP spec, at the wrong time. I loved it, but knew fuck all about Ducati's or set up. Life took one of those loop de loops, it was sold, and I discovered the track/racing.
So the years kept inexorably slipping by, more life loop de loops, but racing a Superbike even at just club level has gotten expensive and I find myself an old bastard looking at Ducati's again. I'm thinking an interesting middleweight would be a welcome change from a superbike eating tyres the way a Labrador eats breakfast. Whether I liked it or not the track had knocked a few more "tools" into my noggin....but I still knew fuck all about Ducati's.
You only live once and I leapt back into the Duc pond with a 749R trackbike. It needed a lot of sorting but it's a wee ripper and after... -

In Praise Of “meals To Finish At Home” But Something Different To The Run Of The Mill
Some of you will know that I am a bit of a foodie and having spent a lot of time in Spain over the last 15 years, I am a big fan of traditional Spanish food, especially tapas. Probably 4 years ago after a London bike show, Carole and I found “Jose’s”, a tiny tapas bar in Bermondsey Street, not far from Tower Bridge. Since then, whenever we have been to London, we have tried to eat there because we feel it is that good.
Jose Pizarro, the owner and renowned Spanish chef, may well have thought about expanding his UK culinary empire by offering typical and regional Spanish food delivered to your door to cook at home but certainly the lockdown during this pandemic pushed this wonderful idea to the fore.
Okay, I know not everyone takes to things like braised ox cheeks and squid ink croquetas and I also appreciate not everyone has a disposable income to blow £75 on a meal for 2 (that actually feeds 3) but tonight we have enjoyed a traditional Basque menu of pickled, queen olives stuffed... -

Monster 1100 Rs
I have been lucky and given the opportunity to take over this great Monster.
This is my 3 Monster 1100 and I love these Ducati. Great design, fun to drive, air-cooled engine, dry clutch, and a fantastic sound and lots of low torque
This is a very special Ducati Monster 1100, with lots of nice and expensive parts.
To name the most important:
- Ohlin's fork yard by SBK mechanic
- Mupo rear shock
- SBK slipper clutch
- Metal Tech SBK adjustable footrest
- SBK switches
- Steering crown of CNC Racing in 7075 alu
- brake and clutch lever in 7075 alu, Brembo
Lots of carbon parts
- alcantara sete
- HPE exhaust
The previous owner has worked in the MotoGP / Supebike "circus", and the Monster was modified when it was new by the company Metal Tech in Italy. It was exhibited at various events in connection with MotoGP and SBK, and World Ducati Week. It was exhibited at WDW 2012 and chosen to be one of the 10 most beautiful of the thousands who participated in the competition,... -

Just Got Myself A 916!
Hi All!!!
After years of coveting the 916 finally managed to get one. Complete impulse buy.
It's a '97 Biposto and am waiting for Ducati Customer Relations to come back to me within the bike's history.
Looking at the MOT certs looks like it was last used on public roads in 2011and from what I was told by dealer it was part of someone's Ducati collection. 14,000 miles on the clock and fairly standard apart from some carbon bits and the exhaust (which is still a Ducati). The original exhausts came with the bike too.
A question about the sidestand switch. There isn't one on the sidestand though the relay is present. Looking at the Haynes manual it would appear there is no sidestand relay in the wiring diagram so it's a bit confusing why there is one on the bike. Haven't had a chance to investigate the wiring further yet.
Another query is the battery light remains on for a few minutes till the bike warms up but then goes off. Is that normal? The battery is brand new and the bike gets... -
New Member Intro
I'll be spending most of my time in this neck of these woods ( 916 area ), so I thought I'd introduce myself..
As my handle suggests, I'm based in Vancouver, Canada, and have an '01 996 S ( N. American S, not the fruity S that you lot were fortunate enough to get. More on that later )
I've spent the last 13 years over at Ducati.ms. Thought I'd check out this slightly more Euro centric Ducati forum as well.
I believe I'm supposed to have some garbage bins in my intro pics, or something like that..? Best I could come up with were storage bins in the background of the first pic -

Desert Sled Bike Arrival Day: Desert Sled Black Edition
Been looking for one of these for a little while and today taken delivery of this Black Edition.
Bought from Ducati Glasgow who could not have been more helpful.
I can also recommend A2B Motorcycle Movers who were brilliant.
The bike's got 3k miles and I think pretty much every accessory that was available.
Will post some more photos when I've had a chance to give it a detail in a few weeks time. -

Newbeee Reporting For Dukey Sir!
Hi folks, just signed up and ready for dukey.
56 yrs young been riding since I was 16 (legally anyway lols).
Owned many bikes over the years... always wanted a Duke... never thought I would own one.

I've a few weeks yet to finish creating the bike of my vision.
My lesson has been patience, letting go of expectation, and feeling grateful.
Looking forward to the Spring...
A safe journey to you all. -
1200 R New Bike Day
After much deliberation over what type of naked bike I wanted, I looked at the 2020 KTM SDR and 2021 Triumph Speed Triple, I finally settled on the Monster 1200R. This is my first Ducati, so I’m somewhat of a virgin! I own a 2020 Aprilia RSV4 which I purchased new last year (in preference to a Pani!) which I love, but it’s bonkers! It’s great for a 100 mile dash but not for comfortable long distance riding (not touring). I therefore wanted something a bit different with a more relaxed riding style, but also packs a punch and looks sexy. I feel I’ve made the right decision and look forward to riding her once the weather improves.
I’ll be looking make a few minor upgrades such as carbon fibre, keyless fuel cap, Evotech levers and bar end mirrors.
Roll on Spring/Summer!!!
