Feels to me much like Valentine’s day, again, no thanks..

i tend to concentrate on the positives i’ve received from the members on here which have stood me up and driven me onwards, you simply can’t put a price on support like that...

My Brothers and Sisters with any MH issue i think of you, share with you and luv you ( inamanlywayobv) everyday.. not for just one day a year..

for example ... no need for a Valentine’s day when you’ve someone like our @Ducbird to luv each and everyday.... X

I just posted over in the newbie section but thought I'd post some more details here.

Last weekend I picked up this 2002 998 from a mate. It's got 23K miles on it, so it's been around the block. It may have seen the track at some point: it has Ohlins forks from a 999S, Ohlins damper, a full Termignoni system, an anodized aluminum water pump cover, uprated cooling hoses, and a monoposto subframe with a cheeky (and flimsy) monoposto tail. It's also got some street bits: a Rizoma clutch basket, CRG levers, Mad Duc reservoir covers, and an aftermarket slave cylinder.

It's a little bit of a project as it needs some stuff: forks are leaking a bit (and will need a respring for my weight), needs a clutch cover, some fasteners are missing, LHS headlight cover has a hole in it, front turn signals are rubbish, rear turn signals are missing altogether, and a couple of other things. I really like the look of the white monoposto tail so might try and paint this one; I've always liked the look...

These are the first pictures of my 2016 959 Panigale now fitted with a 1299 under slung exhaust. Foe me, it looks and sound so much better. I have also removed the exhaust valve servo.. Anyone looking for an Akrapovic shotgun for a 959, please get in contact with me. I have one in near new condition.

We’re off for a ride, Bazzer my usual wing man will be sorely missed, this time it’s going to be ‘Jorg the laughing German’. So it’s going to be mad dogs, an Englishman and a German.

Are we bonkers with the current Covid situation in Spain? Noooo, I’ve had Covid19 good and proper and figure it has to give me some kind of immunity until the virus mutates. Let’s hope my antibodies are still going strong but as for Laughing Boy, yes he’s bonkers!

Besides, Cooperman of this Parish has just returned from the Picos and my thanks go to him because he says take masks and the usual sensible precautions and it’s fine. Added to that the situation in the UK is going horribly wrong and you could catch it just as easily here. Above all inside a full face helmet and behind a buff has suddenly become the safest way to travel, who’d have thought?

Alternatively we could always wear condoms the whole way down, that’s supposed to keep you safe isn’t it?

Genuine Superlight IV number 382, validated with Ducati UK when I purchased the bike.

Mileage is 16,456 and that is probably correct as the MOT in 2009 had 14,980, 2010 had 15,391, 2011 had 16,298 and I then laid it up.

Almost no history for it, I purchased the bike in April 2011 from someone who had bought it partially restored/in parts and he had put it back together.

Appears to be 100% genuine parts other than aftermarket silencers and a 944 big bore kit and stainless clutch/brake hoses. I’m also informed it was dynojetted, though I have almost no idea what that means! It pulls very strongly (I previously owned a 900SS and an 888)

I rode it from April 2011 to September 2013 when I SORN’d it and it has been kept under sheets in my garage until 1 month ago when I thought I’d get it sorted (clearly I didn’t wish to start it with cambelts that had been sat unused for 7 years)

In September 2020 I sent it to Snells Ducati in Alton, where they changed belts, battery, oil &...

Bought my new stead a Ufati 1250S D'air from Pro Twins at a fantastic deal.
All intense and purposes I was up to buy a 950S after all the good reviews from the latest model but after speaking to Brett initially and him showing me the 950S they had on a workbench being PDI'd for a lucky customer Brett at the shop not being pushy never even asked for my number although they did know me from when I worked for Dobles Honda and via a good friend who they sponsored.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I viewed the bikes in Chelmsford Ducati who as nice as they were were only talking full retail for everything even though I had been trade etc so knocked that on the head...

I made a few calls and was offered a good deal, or so I thought for a 950S with heated grips and the first service thrown in and would even deliver it free but that had to be in that new funky white greyish GP colour which I was not so keen on. I emailed Brett to say what I had been offered and he had said he could work...

So i collected the 996 yesterday, the weather was bloody awful so i collected it in my trailer, put it to bed in its nice cosy garage, along with my other non ducati bikes (vfr 800 & 2 636 track bikes)

Up this morning and checked the weather forecast, sun coming out this afternoon, roads drying, couldn't wait!!!! Got a track day booked on Tuesday, so passed the morning by changing oil & filters on both track bikes, quick check over and before i new it it was 2 o'clock.

Wheeled the 996 out of the garage, got changed into the leathers and fired it up.
OMG she sounds amazing, the wait for it to warm up seemed to take ages..........and off we went!

A brisk little 80 mile jaunt and what can i say except......OMFG...........what everyone tells you is correct. Absolute pig in town and traffic, but get it out on the road and i can't describe the fun.
Silky smooth, turns so quick, light and so nimble. And she goes well......all the way up to 70mph obviously!

G'day all,
Currently living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia which is under a hard lockdown (a nation-first curfew was lifted just days ago!) and loving life, as you do.

Currently ride an S1000RR which I've had for about 3 years, but that 'new' Panigale V2 has caught my attention in more ways than one.
Looking to give one a test ride or two once we're allowed out and see what the future holds...would be my first Ducati so have signed up to the forums to get a bit more familiar and learn as much as I can.

Hopefully the photos have worked; the current bike and a fantastic day at the island (the weather was especially superb that day).

Not only for what he did, but the manner in which he did it.

I went for the last Bank Holiday ride out and thought feck, this could be the end of the riding year!

So I went back home and booked a ferry for a week in Spain. I can't spell Quar..tine...

A 2 month old St Bernard with the run of the hotel del Oso in Cosgaya.

My week was a mixture of mountains and coasts.
I think another return is on the cards - but next year.

It felt great to have escaped this covid crap, although it has got worse back home on my return

Had a scoot into Wales on Sunday, 27.09.20, before the place may be lockdowned again. I was hoping to meet a mate at Bala who had just bought a new Triumph Rocket 3 to accompany his X Diavel. He wasnt there, however a few of me other Duc pals were. Col, on his V4 Streetfighter, and Frank n Graham on their Multistradas.

Tagged along with them to Barmouth, quick pitstop for a stretch and coffee by the harbour. Then onto the bike stop at Betwys, over the hills, deffo one of the most sublime pieces of tarmac in Wales imo, designed by a biking god for sure. The V4 sounded utterly ridiculous over there, especially with the £4.5k Akra system on it, the overun and change ups producing some lovely pops. The multi lads had already said they weren't stopping, but me and Col stopped and had a quick coffee on the platform before heading home.

A really good day overall, good roads, scenery and company. Even though it was bright sun all day, you could feel the Autumnal...

Have a friend who is selling his supersport.

He had to move away from home due to work soon after buying it hence the low mileage! I'm sure you can guess at that mileage and looking at the pics it's pretty much brand new!
