I've Bought Yet Another Bike For A Ride To Italy.
Well, after making deciding to push the boat out a little and buy a touring bike a little newer than the Triumph Sprint ST I bought earlier in the year, I picked up the chosen one today.
A BMW GS Adventure XE R1200.
Before I saw this bike, I hadn't heard of the XE, just the Adventure and Adventure TE. The TE was the touring edition and the XE was the Enduro edition exactly the same as the TE, but without the LED headlight and tyre pressure sensors. However, this bike was spec'd with the LED headlight and sensors, plus the advantage of the £1k ish BMW / Givi Trekker boxes.
I bought it privately today from Scotland and rode back down this afternnon. What a cracking bike with all the toys. Really well looked after and should see a few tours with myself.
Now washed and given a liberal dose of ACF50 it sits in the garage making the Ducati's looking like mini-motos
@Marco - 58 will be along soon with his congratulations. -
Help From Ducati Itself
I was inspired by a post on here to find out as much as I can about my 916. It's a humble Biposto MY 95 although very early 95 so all the plastic is mid to late 94. Anyway I contacted Ducati via their website on Wednesday quoting my VIN, asking for any information they have on the bike. Within 2 hours I had a phonecall from Italy explaining they can give me as much as they know but need pictures of the VIN, logbook and my ID, all backed up by a Email too. I provided the requested pictures later that day and got a reply almost instantly that they would pass it on to the relevant department. The next day I received a Email with all the information. When and where my bike was built, what model/spec it was, who the importer was and when they took delivery. Confirmation that the engine is the one it left the factory with and when it was sold and first registered. They also offered a PDF of the owners handbook for the exact specification. What a fantastic service! -

Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO, personally delivered model number 001/500 and the certificate of authenticity of the Superleggera V4 to the lucky owner
Belgian Ducatista Filip Van Schil, who already owns nine Ducati motorcycles, was invited to Borgo Panigale to pick up his Superleggera V4
"Receiving the motorbike directly in the Company and touching the passion of the people who work in Borgo Panigale is an experience that I will always remember. Days like this are what make Ducati unique and different from all the other motorcycle manufacturers," said Filip Van Schil on receiving the motorcycle

996 New (to Me!) 996r
Hello folks,
After years of lusting after an R/SP spec 916-era bike, I've finally pulled the trigger on a 996R (number 311) that's been in a collection in South Africa for a number of years. It's been regularly - if sparingly - used, with less than 6000km on the clock and full service history.
Now just got to wait for the 4 weeks for it to sail around to me here in Dubai!
Excited!! -
Please, Please Read This
Guys,
Two people I know of have been killed in under a week partaking in trackdays.
Please, please, please listen/pay attention to the briefing. If you’re unsure ask. If you think you’re in the wrong group ask to move. If you want help, ask. If your bike isn’t right, pull off. Never ride a bike that’s not fit for purpose.
Every day on track is different. Treat it so.
Everyone is a bit rusty due to Covid straight after the winter. Build up, don’t rush. The fast group is faster than the usual average, Bare this in mind.
Two accidents that could have possibly been avoided, two lives lost. Two broken families.
Be safe. There’s plenty of fast guys down at the graveyard. It isn’t a race, if you’re not feeling it don’t push. It needn’t be dangerous, but it can be if we aren’t vigilant.
edit: also for the love of god, look over your shoulder when exiting the pits!!!!

For Sale Ducati 999 Race/track Bike
So, this is the overview of the T9.
The bike was originally built by a team from Preston for 2005. The frame was purchased new from Ducati late 2004, which I have researched through a main dealer up here. There is an invoice at Ducati for this. They don’t give as much information as they used too due to gdpr! So, a superbike spec motor went in along with race dash, loom, 05 swingarm etc. It was prepared as a wet, spare bike but unfortunately something happened with the team and the racing didn’t happen. It was then put up for sale. The guy who bought it was a photographer and wanted to do a few track days on it and it was decided between him and the disbanded team that the full sbk motor would be too much to maintain for track days so it was swapped with a new spare 999R motor, which is the engine that’s in it now. The new owner did a few track days on it but with his business getting busier just didn’t have the time to ride it. So instead of selling it, it spent over 10 years in... -

765rs Finally Picked Up/build Thread
Alright troops
Ordered this back in March time, originally had a V2 on route but £2400 for insurance when the year before I was paying a grand for a 899 is just a bill I would not stomach.
Had a think and realised the obvious choice had been staring in my face the whole time, I had already owned had a 675 Daytona track bike and since trying out a 765 Daytona cross over at Silverstone last year I knew this would be the correct buy for the time being.
765Rs’s are advertised at £10,300 but after asking about I was lucky enough to get it for £9,800.
(Ive heard from someone else that they’ve been had for a tad cheaper)
Think up to and not including this model they’ve sold 90k units or something so think their business model is just good value and chuck them out in volume.
Today though when going in I did see a PCP example offer and do slightly regret raiding my savings.
With a bit of nowse you can make £10k work very well for you at the moment and all this bike for a 2 odd... -
Ducati Presents The New Hypermotard 950 Rve Version
The RVE version is characterized by special "Graffiti” livery, a striking graphic design inspired by that of the Hypermotard 950 Concept presented in 2019 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este
A sophisticated painting process and application of the graphics guarantees a result comparable to that of an airbrushed bodywork
The electronic package of the Hypermotard 950 RVE is enhanced with the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 15 June 2020 - Ducati presents the new Hypermotard 950 RVE, which is part of the Borgo Panigale fun-bike family between the entry model Hypermotard 950 and the top of the range Hypermotard 950 SP.
The Hypermotard 950 RVE is characterized by a livery called "Graffiti" that is inspired by street art. The bike builds on the success achieved in 2019, especially on social media, by the Hypermotard 950 Concept presented at the prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

My First Ducati
Hi all just joined up as I’ve bought my first Ducati
It’s a 2011 1198 , I’ve wanted a Ducati since I was 10 years old when my old man bought a 916. Been looking at 1098’s but I just couldn’t say not to this bike when I saw the advert for it
Maybe the seller is a memeber here I’m not sure?
A little about me
I’m based up in County Durham and run a small bike workshop called KRG Motorcycles and I’m one of the biggest ktech suspension dealers in the north east. Been going 4 year now and still going strong.
I’ve been riding bikes since I was 6 years old and had a whole host of bikes over the years (Mainly Jap) and now I race a BMW S1000rr in the north east club championship and some No limits rounds and Scottish superbikes.
I’m relatively new to Ducati though apart from a few belt changes and valve checks I’ve not done much with them so I’m hopeful I can tap into the wealth of knowledge that’s here,
I’ll get some better pics tomorrow and I’ve added one of my race bike on... -
959 So My Track Bike Is Just About Finished!
I decided last year after getting a taste for track days on my 959 that I wanted to do more - much more.
After starting to buy parts and totting up the amount of money it would cost to convert my road bike, I realised that it would be far better to leave it and get another - either a bike that was already converted or a cat N write off that I could use as a base.
I considered ex Trioptions bikes - in many ways they are the best value - lots of expensive parts and all the work is done - my only nagging doubt is that race bike engines usually need a rebuild after a season and that can be a costly exercise.
In the end the decision was made for me as this bike came up at auction - finance repo listed as a non runner.
I took a gamble and went to the auction to check it out - it had a bunch of aftermarket bling fitted - lot’s of genuine Ducati carbon, CNC racing rearsets, Ducati Performance indicators, seat cowl, and various anodised extra’s....
The reason it was listed as a... -

Picking it up in time for Oulton this Wednesday! -
Newbie
Just joined, hoping to have lots of information on getting most from my 2013 Multistrada 1200.
I've owned loads of bikes in my 50yrs driving them from a very early age.
My favourite so far were benelli, dont all scream at once!
Hoping this bike will maybe top the benelli lol.
As usual I've got questions that want answers, but will post them in appropriate place once I navigate around. -
Another Ducati 1000 Build
June 2020. I normally build bikes over the winter months... but with Corvid -19 we are not going on any holidays or getting out much so my wife suggested I start my winter project early! I think she prefers me in the garage!
I bought this bike a few years ago... and over the winter 2018/19 I built it into this you see below... over the summer of 2019 I put quite a few miles on it... and actually loved the bike! it feels light and nimble, handles and brakes really well! I normally sell my bikes on, but this time I decided to keep it. A couple of things bugged me though... The tank I used was a compromise, it looks wrong to me, and although the carb conversion worked well... I felt the Monster 38mm Mikuni CV carbs held it back performance wise.
So its in for another rebuild/refresh... cosmetic only as I did the engine last time, and that is running well. I will be fitting some 41mm FCR carbs, a new tank (999) and making a new seat. And maybe change the exhaust...
