916 I Don't Have A Problem, You Have A Problem
I just purchased a bike I have been chasing for two years: a 1995 Ducati 916SP. I took this picture in front of my shop and decided to title it "I don't have a problem, you have a problem!"
From back to front:
1994 Ducati 916 Varese (Originally sold in Switzerland)
1995 Ducati 916SP (Imported and sold by Ferracci in the USA)
1995 Ducati 916 Varese (Sold in California)
Thought my fellow lunatics might appreciate it! -
Hello From Staffordshire
Hello Moorland Monster here - been riding my Ducati for a year after getting my licence a little later than I suspect most of you (42), and my Monster is my first bike. I hadn't considered a Ducati when looking for a bike, but I just looked to see what was available locally and found this bike at Ducati Stoke. I'm absolutely in love with it have managed to do 3K miles in my first year, and looking to double that over the next 12 months. Mostly ride locally in the Peak District, sometimes venturing across Cheshire, Shropshire and into North Wales.
Been lurking the forum for a little while and decided to join up. Looking forward to hopefully contributing something useful, talk about Ducatis and also document some of the mods I'm planning to do over the next year or so.
Cheers

New 1199 Panigale Owner.
Hi fellow forum members.
New to Ducati and the forum. It has always been a goal of mine to own one. Here's my beauty. Absolutely besotted with her! -
998 998r Has A New Custodian
My 998r has gone to new owner after just over 20 years in my custody. Some great memories of rides with friends and solo adventures in the UK and in Europe. Trips to WDW, the South of France, the TT, track days in the UK and a lap or two of the Misano circuit.
Ridden in all weathers including snow on the way to WDW going over the tops nears Val d’isere. Ignoring a road closed due to snow sign wasn’t a great idea, and after riding over some patches of snow 200 or so metres long, turning around and finding a different route seemed like a better idea.
Being welcomed to park up in all sorts of places that only a Ducati rider would in Italy and Monaco. Shared the roads and tracks with some great people and bikes, following an MV Augusta 500 round Donnington park getting bombarded by the exhaust sound was just one highlight.
Niall Mackenzie took the bike for a spin for TWO magazine, making far more use of it’s capabilities than I ever could.

After 30 Years, Finally A Ducati...
Hello to everyone and greetings from Portugal
New Ducati (at least for me) in the garage!
A nice 2002 ST4S, which will receive the treatment it deserves, to get in shape and again as 'brand new'!
Probably i'm gonna call her 'Alessandra', a nice italian girl who lived for the past 20 years in Germany, but decided that it's enough and wanted more sunny days and came to Portugal -
916 First 1000km With Sps
Things I've discovered in first 1000km as 916sps owner.
1) Don't spare the neighbours when warming bike up for a early morning ride.
2) If you ignore #1 bike will stall at every junction, roundabout, traffic light within a 3 mile radius of your house.
3) It's the worse bike I've ever ridden in traffic, below 4k it's a dog.
4) second gear power wheelies are a shock after years on old air cooled 2 valver.
5) If being chatted up by middle aged men is your thing it's a winner.
6) On a fast A or B roads with a few roundabouts chucked in it really comes alive and suddenly makes sense. Gearbox is a dream, other than finding neutral. -
Thanks For The Warm Welcome.
New Ducati owner. A bit about me. I have been riding for about 5 years now. Started on a MT07 and move up through a few bike before getting to my V2 Bayliss. I am 40 now and have been around bike through my dad since the age of 8. We lost him 7 years ago and it pushed me to get on two wheels and stop letting life get in the way. Best thing I have ever done and have met so many amazing people. -
How To Improve/ruin Your £1000 Rearsets….
The V4S that I purchased a few weeks ago is pretty much standard, but does have a set of the CNC Racing Pramac limited edition rearsets. Normally I’d be happy with this, seeing as they are the best part of £1k to buy new
But…they are anodised red and I can’t stand anodised coloured bits on my bikes. I know it’s totally subjective and loads of people have various coloured trinkets and I have no problem with that. But it’s just not my thing.
If they were black or silver I’d be happy as Larry, so that got me thinking about changing their colour. A bit of Googling and YouTub’ing and the decision was made to try and remove the anodising.
A trip to Tesco to buy a £3.50 bottle of oven pride and an afternoon’s elbow grease and this is the end result. Not perfect, but so much better than before!
That Oven Pride is some seriously strong stuff! -
6 European Countries In 2 Weeks.
Sadly my bike trip has came to an end but a great two weeks, 3595 miles door to door, from N.Ireland via Dublin & Folkstone to France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Holland & Belgium, before returning home via the Snowdonia National Park in Wales to Holyhead and the ferry back to Dublin and then home. Planning has now stated for the next one, France & Italy, to start with. Here's a just a few pics. -
For Sale 996 For Sale
I am moving overseas with my job in a few months and boring legislation means I can’t take my bikes with me so my 996 is up for sale.
It is a 1999 model (registered in 2000) and has undergone a full restoration about 2 years ago. The frame and wheels have been painted (better than powder coating) by DW Auto who are on the same industrial estate as Luigi Moto and it's who he uses for frames as they have worked together to get the colour right. The engine was taken out and sent to Luigi Moto but because it had been sat in oil, it had screwed up the crankshaft journal. It was actually easier to find a complete engine than it was a new crankshaft, so it was taken to Luigi for him to give it the once over and the engine was dropped that in. The valve clearances were also done at this point too. The engine only had 8k miles on it and has been fully registered with the frame number with DVLA. It has done approximately 500-600 miles since this rebuild.
The forks and shock were rebuilt by... -
New Frenchy
Hi guys,
Came here looking for a seat pad reference design for a 888, currently modifying a 94 888 strada to solo seat, and also have a special TT-F1 build ongoing.
I’m a mechanical design engineer working in the oil and gas industry for almost 20 years, have build my own 3D printers, CNC, and like to build my own parts for the bikes.
Hope to enjoy having nice technical discussions! -
Leaking Valve
So let me start by saying that prevention is so much better than cure. In my case I discovered this problem or rather it was diagnosed, during a routine annual check. I hasten to add not my bike but me!! My job requires me to have a fairly comprehensive annual medical and back in January I was grounded by the CAA due to a leaking mitral valve in my heart. In essence the valve is comprised of 2 "leaflets" and the rear one had prolapsed, meaning it was not allowing the valve to form a seal when closed, resulting in blood leaking back through the valve (otherwise known as "regurgitation") and causing an audible murmur, which is how it was first detected.
This condition causes the heart to have to work harder and the muscle to eventually stretch to compensate, which in the short term mitigates the leak but in long term, eventually weakens the whole organ and increases the risk of atrial fibrillation and having a stroke. Had I not had the medical, I would have been none the wiser as I... -
1299 New (almost) 1299s
After an absence I am glad to be a Ducati owner yet again. For the last 20 years I have owned a variety of Ducatis ranging from the 748R, Diavel Titanium (what was I thinking) and the latest bike was the 1199r which I regretted selling.
The Ducati’s have either been a second or third bike in the stable so with the 1199 gone, I opted to try the s1000RR (Pictured). What a fast bike, heated grips, cruise control etc but I found it boring and dull. It was just too easy. I’d come back from a ride with no aches no pains and a tank full of energy. With the Ducati, I’d need a chiropractor and 2 days rest.
With no love for the V2/V4 examples, I went on the hunt for what had to be an immaculate unmarked example. The search paid off. Here’s my 1299s with only 950 miles on the clock and full Ducati supplying dealer service history. Paint work is immaculate with a beautiful reflective surface. Even under an Led light the paint scatter is minimal. Wonderful bike. I won’t be selling this one. -

For Sale St4s Cherished 15 Years, 21k Miles, Ultimate All-rounder With 996, Ohlins & Luggage
Near-mint Ducati ST4S 2001 with Ducatisti owner for 15 years
996 engine with Ohlins, Brembos and fitted luggage
£3500 with standard exhausts, with first refusal on extras listed below
You may not have considered an ST, but they're some of Ducati's finest efforts. Described as 'one of the most balanced and effective bikes I have ever had the pleasure of riding' by Neil Spalding, MotoGP commentator and proprietor of Sigma Performance. The 4S was the pinnacle combining the 996 4-valve engine with all-day comfort and Ohlins suspension. Supremely torquey even 2-up yet returning a consistent 55mpg, with a 220+ mile range. The Ducatis of this time (under TPG management) had excellent finish and quality control. The few known quirks of the ST have been fully sorted during 15 years of cherished ownership making this one of the best available for sale today. Low miles but used frequently, it did 1600 miles in 6 days recently, trouble-free, and wants for nothing. I'd love to keep it but... -

I've been a subscribed member of this forum for a few years now, a forum that has support me and my Roadlok UK business since I started, so I wanted to give something back by offering "Subscribed Members" an 8% discount when they purchase any Roadlok unit from me.

Sort Of Touring…with Cannonball!
Just back from an epic tour with Cannonball bike run 2023, in Europe.
We started in Austria, then in to Italy, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Austria…Germany. With barely a stop for breath.
Epic. Mad. Fast. Some mad riding, some mad but brilliant people.
Bikes ranged from KTM 890 Duke, GS1250, Multistradas (none actually broke down, but a KTM nearly did not reach the start due to electrical issues ) to S1000rr and tricked up Superdukes. A real mix.
Crashes? Hmm. Nobody died. Fun? Yes, in epic proportions.
This is the trip I promised myself 6 years ago and thought was to be permanently shelved. Thanks to my very understanding wife for being able to get away this time.
Expensive? Yes. Worth it, yes, with many people hooked and returning each year. Could you book the same thing with your mates? In theory maybe, but in practice no. Very good Routes sorted, hotels sorted, luggage transported, back up van (useful for totalled motorcycle one day and a lightly... -
It’s Good To Be Back…
Hi all,
Back in the olden days (circa 2016) I was an active member on here, being the proud owner of an 1199, then 899, 1199R and lastly a 848 Streetfighter (slightly odd transition from the R to the fighter, granted).
I then went through my post-Ducati phase, owning all sorts of guff including a Husqvarna (motorbike, not chainsaw), a Triumph Street Triple (possibly the most boring bike on the planet) an old Fireblade (cracking bike) and most recently a brand new MV Agusta F3 Rosso (beautiful but completely flawed).
I decided enough was enough and the Ducati itch needed scratching once more. So I chopped in the disastrous MV for a 2018 Panigale V4S.
Oh my, it’s good to be back
Here’s a picture of my bins…
