V4 V4s Build - From Start To Finish
I've been noticeably (or more likely not) absent on here due in part to a number of reasons, including a house move, family bereavement, spinal surgery and a host of other things, but since a good few people have commented on a lack of communication from me recently (as a result of said life events), I have decided to run a timeline thread on the V4S Unica build I started way back in 2018. I will try and run it in some sort of chronological order, that mimics what I set out to achieve on book of face, so as you can see the progress of the build for yourselves as it moves through each stage.
This will be a picture heavy thread so I make no apologies for that, other than if you don't want to wade through them all then move along. I will try and upload an update daily, but that all depends on work commitments, so please don't flame me if things don't appear when you might expect them to. The first installment will begin tomorrow as I am on the back end of a 12 hour shift at work,... -
An Englishman In France
Hi Ducati enthusiasts
After years of lurking I finally joined the Ducati forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I've had Ducatis for the last 20 years and currently own a 1998 996 and a white framed 1991 900SS. Previously I had a 900SSie, an 888 and a Sport Classic 1000.
I used to live in the UK but am now based in the central Pyrenees in France. Gotta love the weather and roads over here!!
Best wishes to all

For Sale Early 900ss (no 298) April 1991 H-reg
OK – I’m selling No. 298
It’s an April 1991 H-reg white wheel and frame, black caliper 900ss – possibly the earliest in the country?
It has a Recent full MOT (January 2020)
The fairings, exhaust, Forks, and tank etc. are all original and in great condition, no crash damage.
The engine is also an early one, No.222 – so came with the bike. However it has had the 944 conversion at some time in its history. These bores (from the ST2) are famed for their bullet proof nature. I think it will be high compression as well, and possibly the high lift cams, but I can’t be sure.
It has recently been to John Cellier (top Ducati specialist) and had a fork rebuild, new regulator/rectifier, starter motor rebuild, and several other bits – over £700 spent. He is confident in the engine.
I’m selling it as a project bike, despite the positives there are still issues to address and I have had a change of circumstance and can’t take the work on.
The carbs need attention. Probably emulsion tubes going... -
Goodbye Yorkshire
I have decided to retire completely. On the 12th March I will be relocating to Northumberland. Close to Alnmouth and the beautiful beaches in the county. One thing I need to find is a Termi-friendly MOT tester in the Alnwick area. So any recommendations appreciated. I will still be keeping my hand in with the ECU hobby. -
Finally Bought A Winged Italian
Not being able to gel with the Panigale V4 looks, I opted to trade the Tuono V4, for the RSV4 1100 Factory instead. Bit bland paintjob but stunningly engineered, and about to get some new subtle decals..... -
Custom Rumble: Voting Is Open For The Best-looking Ducati Scrambler Custom Bike
74 Ducati Scrambler based specials are taking part in the contest
Voting for the best-looking customized Ducati Scrambler is open on Scramblerducati.com until March 15
Prize for the winning bike will be awarded at Bike Shed London 2020 in May
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 14 February 2020 - The Ducati Scrambler based specials created by participants in the Custom Rumble, the contest that every two years rewards the best-looking customized Ducati Scrambler, are ready to be voted on Scramblerducati.com.
The contest, registrations for which closed in December 2019, has arrived at a total of 74 completed bikes, divided into the five categories renewed for this third edition. To leave room for reinterpretation and creativity, each customizer was able to choose between four categories dedicated to Ducati Scrambler 800 and Sixty2 and a specific one for the Ducati Scrambler 1100:

899 Track Bike, Liverpool
Hi all
bought an 899 3 weeks ago for track use. Currently prepping for Andalucia first week of March. Intrigued to see how these handle on the track.
I’m coming from an S1000rr as I am after a better soundtrack and abit more soul (in-line 4s just don’t do it for me). Hopefully I’ll see some of you out on track this year. -
Hello From North Wales
Got my Diavel in October last year and am totally enamoured. Been riding in all weathers because its too good to keep indoors. Plenty of washes and FS365 looking after everything. Shad backrest is for my better half, does a great job of keeping her in situ. This is certainly her favourite bike so far, good news all round - result! Treated myself to some R&G heated grips to make things more comfortable, less than £30 from MandP. Wiring hidden under the original windshield with the control on the handlebar centre avoiding the weather. Speaking of the weather, that back wheel flings up so much water and dirt, anybody found a solution?
Couple of small issues - numberplate light failed and replaced (ouch - didn't you just love it when all you had to do was replace a bulb) Brake light decided to stay on and that was due to water collecting in the cable wrap so a quick fix and this weekend the cover fell off my right rear brake light/turn signal. Sealed units are great so long as they... -

1200 DVT 18,000 Mile Big Service At Italia Moto
Ive just had my big service done by Italia Moto in Lincoln. Their service has been excellent therefore I thought they need a mention. They have just given up their franchise but were main dealers. Id had work done before by them so I trusted them.
From November to the 1st March they offer £10 per hour off their labour charge and also will pick up and drop your bike off for free.
They initially quoted me £800 to do the service. In order to bring the cost down I said I will be doing the oil and filter myself and I also removed the bodywork for them. They then quoted me £600.
On booking it in I told them my pads were over half worn. They quoted a mad price for Brembo brakes and said they would fit them for free. I asked if I bought the parts would they still fit them for free and they said yes.
So I searched online and found a company called Carpi Moto in Italy. They delivered genuine Brembo pads front and back for £72. The price from Ducati was more than this for one pair!.

a bit about me, I have had my license since July 2018, im 36 years old, bought a GSXR 600 as my first bike, and after one year bought a S1000R(Naked), wanted to try a Hyper Naked for the position etc but hated the fact there is no wind protection, so went back to Super Sports but wanted something special that I can keep for a few years.
Ill post pictures once I get it delivered home. -
Keeping In Touch With The Community
Hey all;
Just a quick introduction to myself.. I'm Jack , some people may recognize my name as I'm currently working within the Motorcycle industry, especially at the former Design Corse as I was the Technical Sales Advisor and had contact with a quite a few of the members within this community.
As many of you are aware, unfortunately Design Corse is no longer however I plan to remain active in these various communities as I am a huge motorcycle enthusiast (especially Italian bikes) and definitely appreciate and would like to maintain the relations I've developed across the two years at working at Design Corse and be a part of these great forums
I've been riding for the past 4 years, pretty much every day across two bikes throughout the years (KTM RC125 & Ducati Monster 797+), riding an approx ~25k miles in all different weather conditions. I've attached a picture of my Monster below, it's got a few mods done to it and probably soon to be more.
Looking forward to being a part... -
The Long Road To Recovery
It’s without doubt the worst Christmas present my wife and I had ever had. In fact it came early and we’re still unwrapping it.
‘Take a seat, this is the surgeon’. What?...Ohhhh.
After the first piece of information his mouth continued flapping but nothing was reaching our ears. So hard to believe when you first start to take it in. The silence, the deafening silence.
I know some of you have been there. So many people speak up and have been through it.
And what can you do? What can she do? What can I do? Not that much really other than be here to support. Many well meaning people offer help in any way they can but what can they do? You can only put your faith in the surgeons and modern medicine and cross your fingers.
Think positive.
Here we are, on the eve of commencement of treatment. 18 moths of Chemo. 18 months! A year and a half!
Then they operate.
Then radiotherapy and various other things.
That’s apparently the way they do it nowadays, so they can see how it... -
Dvt 1200s To Hyper 950sp
Thought I’d drop a quick hello to this sub group having just traded in my 1200 DVT for something a bit more youthful in a 950SP. Picked her up last Thursday and took it out and about in North Wales to get a feel before deciding what, if any, tinkering needs doing. So in terms of weather it was very damp with spots of fog which given that I was on new Supercorsa’s made me cautious with the throttle and also I kept in Touring mode. So first impressions were;
a) Out of the box suspension set-up appears to be very, very good, in fact probably one of the best of all the bikes I’ve ever had new. That’s probably coincidence for my 86Kg. The Multi from new appeared to come set up for a rider with zero weight and required a lot of suspension adjustment to get it handling comfortably. However with the Hyper after about half an hour I’d almost forgot I had SC’s and felt confident enough to push it harder into the twisties.
b) It definitely has knack of drawing the adventurous... -
1198r Panigale?????
Hi Guys,
three weeks ago decided now I have the last opportunity to do something totally out of the box to swap the old 848 electronics for a panigale 1199 electronics with all the standard benefits like DTC, oem Ducati quickshifter, ride by wire system, ABS, nice panigale display etc. And also decided to paint the frame in red instead of grey.
Yesterday started with dismount the complete bike to make it ready for a paint job and the engine ready for the new electronics.
I hope I can post in the couple of weeks some more updates.
thanks! -

Back In The Red!!
Hello to you all. Some of you may remember me, I used to have a pair of super sports(750 and a junior) but decided to sell both of them in 2016 and by a Honda. Worst thing I could have done! Bought a Honda for the reliability, what a POS it was. So disheartened with it that I sold it to one of those internet buying company’s. So I’ve been bikeless for a year, until today!! Not picked it up yet (next Saturday) but have bought a 900ss. It has a checkered pass as it’s now registered on a Q plate having been stolen at some point. So it’s registered as a 98 but as some of you keen folks will notice it looks like a 91/2 to me, decals and small breather on the tank. I am a purest but loved both of my white frame/ wheel machines that I owned before so will be putting this one back to how god made it. Photo attached and will post some more next weekend when I pick it up. Will start a tread for the refresh, have been reading the most recent ones with interest, loving the work
