Some of my latest work

Eh up,

I've just joined up. Largely prompted by the need to date the one on the right. But also in recognition that these two old things will need a bit of specialist knowledge if they're to be viable in the coming years. This pic taken this summer and was the first time either had seen the light of day for about 8 years.

I've owned the 750SS from new. It replaced an old slab-sided (under-powered) 600SS which I was relieved of by some light-fingered ^%$%&^*.

The 750ss was my daily commuter and showed signs of that before it went into storage in the mid 00s when I went to America. The 851 came back with me as a souvenir and promptly went into storage with its younger brother. A flat in London wasn't the ideal place to keep it!

Anyway, finally I've got the means and now the need to put one of them back on the road for commuting purposes- partly to save my ageing car. Obviously I plumped for practicality... with the 851.

I had wanted an 851 from the moment I saw one on holiday...

I saw a Ducati 400SS on Facebook Marketplace while i was on holiday. It was a project, but looked complete and like it wouldnt be too-much of a nightmare, so i messaged the seller, agreed to pay the asking price £600, sent a deposit £150, and started to organize transport via Shiply (as i wouldnt be home for a few weeks - holiday then straight into a business trip, etc...).

I got the bike delivered to my parents house, collected it on my first day home, and immediately started working on the 'to-do' list.

As an aside, this is my 3rd Ducati. I owned a 750 Paso which was a nightmare, it blew oil everywhere, overheated, and ran rough. I sold it at Newark Autojumble (probably around 2005-06) to a couple, the bloke had a Ducati, and this was to be a project he was building for his wife. I hope he had more success than i did... On one had i regretted selling it, on the other i was glad to see it gone, i swore i would never buy another Ducati!

Then i worked in the Netherlands for a few...

Just put a deposit on this shed find. One owner, 22,000 miles and needs a lot of love. It will unfortunately be 2 owners when I get it as the first owner passed away and his cousin has had to register it in her name to get the log book.

Thinking of a restomod approach to this one, with a bore out to 500cc and warmer cam, then a retro paint scheme, to make it a little different!

So, big news for me is that I have a new NEW bike! This is actually quite a big deal for me as I have never, ever, bought a new bike (or car for that matter) with my own money in my life. It may be something to do with my half-Scots heritage, that and growing up in a thrifty household, but it's never made sense to me to me to spend my hard earned on something that will lose at least 20% of its value the moment I start the engine and drive/ride it out of the showroom. So, I've always bought three-year old low mileage cars and three/four year old bikes, usually privately (though I bought my last bike, a 2017 Multistrada 1200S from CMC bikes - too good a deal to pass up).

So, having come into some funds (as a result of sheer hard work - with some, not really not that much luck involved) I was casting around for a "new" (used) bike, and looking at 2020-plate 1260S GTs. There are a few around but they are commanding strong money, so much so that you can get a 21-plate V4 for less...

I know theres a few porsche nerds amongst us myself included...
went to the inaugural UK GT Circle event earlier at OPC Wycombe and saw some lovely things

Hi, I have bought a new bike which arrives in early November. So up for sale is my 2022 multi with 25300 miles. I've owned the bike from new. It has a full Ducati service history from Ducati Glasgow, and has 18 months warranty remaining. It is in fantastic condition . It comes with Ducati 3 box luggage , radar, heated driver seat, heated grips, crash bars , carbon front mudguard, akro exhaust, evo tech radiator and oil cooler guards. I am looking for £10750. The bike is in perfect running order with no issues what so ever.

I'm 56 and started wrenching on Ducati's 4 years ago. My first restore was a 2006 ST3 (mostly cosmetics), then I did a complete rebuild on a 98 900ss/cr.
This winters project is a 1995 916 (xxxxxxV000858) that I just purchased from the original owner who is 82 yrs old, and rode it until he was 80.

Hi guys I've been lucky enough to get my hands on David jefferies team mates bike, it's the Adrian Archibald gsxr 600 k3 from 2003, this is the super sport machine that raced at the nw200, ulster gp and the Isle of man tt, got some bits on her, she does need a service and a bit of tlc but I'm very happy that I've got the pair now.

How many enter these online competitions to win a bike/car etc ?
I have tried a couple of times but you never seem to hear of someone you know winning and it made me think are the ‘winners’ friends of the competition people who say they have won when they actually haven’t.

My option changed this week when my 20 year old bought 3 instant win tickets at £1.50 each. 2 of them were ‘Sorry, you haven’t won this time’ but the 3rd one said ‘Congratulations, you have won a car’
My son thought it was dodgy still but he then got an email and a call to confirm he had actually won a car.
Turned out to be a Nissan 370Z which was fantastic but other cars were a Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, Audi.
Got delivered a couple of days ago and sold yesterday as he has just bought a new car.
Good profit for £4.50 !

Not hot on the heels of my 400/4 build and no where near as in depth - as ive opened a couple of other threads re acquiring an SXV550 (getting a van and the v5 update) - imo the ultimate supermoto....still is and nothing else touches if for sheer mentalness....

Its mine now....work has started in earnest...ive not ridden it yet - i brought it back with no wheels on and no forks...seemed pointless just to build it up and then take it apart again..! so without further a-do....to the pics...

Those are my HPK's in there from the z1000 - the shitty nickel plating came off so got those stripped and blacked out as well...
