Uk Person/s £170,000,000 Lottery Win.
Difficult to get my head around winning this sort of money. I'm gonna have to do an eccentric act or two and blow some on something crazy (like for e.g. the first 50 people to "like" this post each get a new Ducati - there goes a million).
Any more "interesting" ideas? -
Home
Thanks for the well wishes both direct and via threads.
Got discharged about 1400 yesterday, and delighted to be home. Looking like I’ll take the rest of this week out for some R&R and try and increase my activity levels ready for back to work Monday.
Can’t believe how much everything aches, especially my chest, but then I had a heart rate for probably 20 or 30 back to back marathons timeline without rest. So it’s bound to have taken its toll on my other organs and, of course, my heart.
No idea what caused it. Now have a few months of further tests to check it’s all functioning OK before they decide if it’s long term meds or not. And an endoscopy to understand the enlarged lymph nodes.
So plenty of shoving and picking to come....

Big Thanks!
to @Furyous for selling me the 1198 wheels over on for sale.
As I said I’m a long term lurker but my Ducati history started recently with a lovely but a little unloved 748 about 5 years ago. Rode it round Assen and fell in love with how these things felt so much like my Tigcraft Rotax Supermono. Upgraded to a super low miles 748SP which did numourous trackdays. Then my 999 which will its way to a new owner shortly and recently bought an 1198 cheap needing work.
The 1198 was bought whilst drunk during an evening of this year’s European track pilgrimage on the 999 from a bar in Zandvoort, 14k miles a lot of service history but owner fell out of love with it after brakes siezed and (it turns out) sprag broke up. It had been standing for 18months in the rain and was just £5500
It’s now fully sorted with brand new Ohlins forks/shock I managed to locate in three different countries and final part was the beautiful Marchesini wheels. Brands 31/10 weather permitting...

1198 1198r First Ride
Rain stopped last night and sunny 15degC today so was able to go for a quick ride on the 1198 I just got. Was the first time I ever even sat on a Duc...
Not the ideal roads riding round the lake we live close by, since lots of traffic out, because its probably the last nice weekend of the year, and also the bike isn't registered in my state yet. Anyway some first impressions:
1. Mirrors are worthless but they look cool.
2. Clutch is a bit grabby but will get used to that.
3. Too much throttle play - will adjust that out but i get the feeling I may need to do something else to take away the slight snatch on initial opening. On other bikes i fixed with a reflash to eliminate the fuel cut on closed throttle
4. Gobs of torque, which makes 3. above important to fix
5. Sounds great and not crazy loud.
6. Very quick turn in!
7. Takes me back 35 years - like riding a real race bike! (i.e. light, responsive, awesome, but not much fun at 40mph)
I wouldn't dare take this on track in case I... -
Suzuki T250 Hustler ?
Got this running well now, no road test yet. As posted a few weeks ago i acquired these recently a 1970 GT 250 as registered in the V5, the feeling is it is a Hustler drum brakes all round as the GT250 had a disc front and didn't appear in the UK until 1972-3 .
My aim is /was just to get it running, the whole fuel system had been clogged up with stale fuel in the form of a treacle like substance. So, tank thoroughly cleaned using sugarsoap to shift about an inch of this muck from within, fuel tap assy cleaned but i decided to replace it with a new replacement which omits the vacuum assy just a lazy device for leaving the fuel tap on.
I replaced the coils as the original plastic coatings had split and the bike would not run on two cylinders. New plugs, new clutch cable, seat recovered, horn/light switch fitted ( never had one). Replacement handlebars as it had bent ace drops on it, and new grips.
The running problem was the carbs as advised on the forum, i had removed them and... -

1200 Spain Trip
Went to Spain for 10 days, Plymouth to Santander (Rtn) stayed in Ainsa and rode out from there, used best biking roads for some ideas but to be honest-all the roads around there are pretty awesome! Got a cheeky €50 on the spot speeding fine - but the coppers were pretty cool!
Low point was when out heading for Argeles Gazost, I got overtaken by a GS, (not being happy with that) I went for it, chased him for all I was worth, I struggled to keep up with him for about 10km, then after he passed a car before a sharp bend, I lost him... I was gutted, no, devastated that I had my arse handed to me by a fekkin GS!! Anyway, I spotted him a few KM later, tried to chase him again, then he stopped at a Cafe! I parked up next to him and was soooo relieved to see it was a Multi 1260 Enduro with the big square metal panniers fitted!!
Anyway, he introduced himself and after a quick chat, he worked for Ducati Spain and was planning a route for a ride out! He also described himself as... -
Picked Her Up Today
Here’s my new whip already covered in shit from the rain and tractor goo that I’ve been riding through, done 120 miles so far on her this morning and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. What a great machine these are and make you smile like a loon. I know they are not everybody’s cup of tea but dang they are fun to ride! First job was to put it in sport mode, turn wheelie control off, turn abs down and attempt to run bike in under 6000 rpm lol -
V4 V4s Corse Ordered!
I’ve only gone and done itI sold my 1199 on Friday, went to the new Ducati Worcester dealership for their launch day on the Sunday and walked out with a V4S Corse. Well not literally but order placed anyways. Dorian the GM seems like a top bloke, did me a cracking deal and no hard sell or anything like that - so far so good
Oh and I met a rather nice fella there called Carl - he’s supposed to be a bit handy on a Ducati apparently... -
New Track Bike.

Newbie 1098, Bit Of A Project!
Hi all,
Bought my first Ducati about a month ago and I would love to say it`s the best thing ever, but it needs some TLC and I`m yet to properly ride it. It was apparently the project bike of Snell Ducati Alton and had a lot of work done on it when new, fairings, clutch, hi comp pistons, exhaust blablabla.
15k later and it`s running rough and stalling so it`s strip down and build up time. Here to get some advice and hopefully give some back in the process!
And me, biker for 14 awesome years, currently on a 08 zzr1400, love a track day, cruise, whatever gets the wheels rolling!
I`m sure I`ll have a tonne of questions and annoying posts along the way, but for now, just saying Hi...! -

Introducing Myself Here
Hi there, new to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself, relatively new rider based in south west london and new owner of a 2014 899 Panigale.
The bike is mostly stock aside from the full Akrapovic system, tail tidy and a few carbon bits. -
Greenlaning Weekend, Moors & Coast.
Two brilliant days off road riding around the Whitby and North Yorkshire moors area.
Arrived at the campsite Friday afternoon, I`m ready, the bike is ready, and my tent is pitched. I even had time to take the crap out of my mate, he`s got the tools out already, this won`t come back to haunt me, will it.
09:00hrs Saturday morning and we`re off, I`m in the company of new-ish bikes, but my plucky 20 year old nail can hold it`s own, riding past downed KTM riders is the best feeling............in the world.
Unfortunately, this smugness only lasted until late afternoon.
After dinner, my bike started popping and banging through the exhaust on the over run, the pilot screw had started to unscrew, I had to adjust it a couple more times but eventually, after a long-ish run on the road, the inevitable happened, my bike stops, the pilot screw had fallen out and was lost to the wilds of the Yorkshire Moors. To get me going again, I wound the tickover up and got my mate to hold his finger... -

1299 Another Panigale R For The Forum……
Without boring the arse off you all, I have been hankering after an R for a while, but, owning a V4S already was making my head fuzzy.
Long story short, the V4S is no longer mine and my new (to me) Pani R arrived today (V4 parts for sale shortly). I am smitten. 2015 bike with 4800 miles on the clock.
Why swap out? The V twin is an R that I think will appreciate in time and, most importantly, it just fits me better, being that bit slimmer.
I have loved owning and riding the V4 but it was never going to be a keeper – more a feisty mistress than long term partner. I think the R will change that and it makes a great stablemate for the 748r.
Couple of pics here, more to follow. It has Ducabike clutch cover, Rizoma reservoirs, Oberon clutch. Got all the standard parts as well. Need to get out for a ride now to bed in the new pads and tyres.
Must say thanks to @brettski for letting me have a sit on his R the other week which confirmed the “fit” and especially @cookster for his...
