Startted ok. Everyone turned up

so here it is after 5.5 months of re hab the replacement 1260 has arrived.
Can’t wait to get back riding again, thanks to Ducati Manchester for the service and delivering the bike to me.

Sitting outside my local Starbucks (3 miles from home) I always start my rides here of a weekend mulling over a copy of MCN, just had someone walk up and say “lovely bike mate, bet it sounds great, always wanted on of those”, so that’s it then, my work here is done, may as well go home?.

Yesterday I picked up my very first Ducati and obviously very First Panigale. A beautiful 2015 1299s

All happened a bit quick last week but delighted to finally have taken the plunge after 4 long years of waiting

Look forward to being able to join in now on the forum rather than just lurk, and maybe meet up with any Southern UK folk

I opened Practical Sportsbikes after it just dropped through the door and quickly opened it to see if Exact Fit belts had been mentioned having just had 2 orders going to MCN / PSB staff. Checked if Chris (Editor) had done an article on his belt change and mentioned our belts - but nothing there yet

Then found this very pleased...

Mine is Pravčická Brána in the North of the Czech Republic - this is shown on the opening sequence of the film 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' but is listed as New Zealand in the credits, which it certainly isn't...

Following on from my thread of a couple of weeks ago about buying a Colin Edwards Arai helmet, I now only had 2 helemts in an eBay watch list which I've had going for years, a Steve Hislop and Nori Haga "Monza" replica. I thought "I'm safe for a while, it took me years to find the Edwards Laguna Seca, these 2 helmets never get listed in my size and mint condition" ...........................A "Hizzy" appeared the same day.

"Bollocks" Never mind, all is not lost, it's probably a dog of a helmet, but I must make sure, you understand. I contact the seller for info and more pictures. He's worn it twice, it's mint inside and out, with only 2 very, very minor marks on the rear where he caught it against his house wall.

How do I get out of this? ...............Right, I'm down that there London when the auction ends, I'll put Bidmate on the case with a bid far less than I've seen these go for in the past. I can't bid on it as I'm not near the computer,...

As most on here know I’ve been toying with the idea of switching from sports bikes to a Diavel since 2014 when I first test rode one. At the time I said it was a brilliant bike but after a few hours it was uncomfortable on my coccyx. However the yearning (if I can call it that) for one hasn’t diminished over the past 5 years.

When Ducati launched the new one last year I decided to put a deposit down on one (1260S) but with the proviso that if I didn’t like it when it actually rocked up that I could cancel. Added to that is the fact that we’ve since moved house and my garage space has shrunk and I need it to fit in the garage with my other bike and other stuff I’ve got in it. The dealer agreed.

Anyway after a few false starts (moving house, shit weather, personal commitments etc) I finally had a full day with the base model today. I managed to cover over 260 miles during the day and purposely covered motorways, A roads, B roads, potholed roads, steep roads, shitty roads etc...

I love this engine, the desmoquatto, for me the last true "ignorant" engine, created by a few Italian geniuses against the Japanese giants.
I am fortunate to have been able to buy these two bikes over the years, the 851 sp2 from 1990,only 300 specimens produced, almost all destined for the race and few finished for the road...the first to mount the 888cc engine and the first to win a world-class superbike, mounted practically still by hand, grumpy but racing like never! then the latter to mount the desmoquattro, then her, a Tamburini, the ducati 996s single-seater with the Sps engine, beautiful.
Both have won many world titles, they are a pleasure to drive.
I live on Lake Garda and every time many bikers stop me and ask for them.

Client brought this into us and requested we do full coverage Xpel Ultimate Plus self healing paint protection film....again a massive undertaking but looked spectacular.....

Vehicle did receive the usual full clinical wash, chemical & physical decontamination and machine correction prior to film application...

Told myself "Must resist, Must resist"..................... It arrived yesterday.

On the plus side. There are only 2 in my watch list now.
