‘88 750 Sport
Hi Guys
New to the forum but not to DUCATI, have owned a 900SS, and 1199S Panigale. I’m actually in Australia but this forum seemed to have some life so hoping there’s some other owners of older Ducati’s here.
Have only owned this 750 Sport for a few months and took it to track for the first time yesterday. Loved it. -
1000 Multistrada Special Build
Last winter I built a Multistrada special out of an accident damaged 1000DS. I finished it in April and I have ridden the bike all summer… I LOVE it! Been finding excuses to just go for a ride on it!
However, there are aspects of the bike I really don’t like… first, the plastic tank… with the advent of ethanol in fuel, I can only see problems in the future… and also the electronics, already the LCD screen has failed, and some of the warning lights, which is a pain as they are a fortune.
I have been planning to build a bike that would be a “keeper” for years, and this may be it… So I have decided to rebuild it again over this winter… this time with a steel tank, a simple Electronic ignition, (Ignitech) and Carbs, yes, I know I am a dinosaur!
If people are interested I will update this thread as I progress with the build, but for now here are a few pictures of last year’s build, and a couple of progress so far…,
Here’s how it started out
Here it is finished….

V4 Mine !
Arrived at work today just behind a delivery truck and look what he had on board.
Final picture is a comparison of my mag alloy wheels and the standard ones on the other V4 Speciale that was on the truck.

Ducati Presents A New Colour Scheme For The Xdiavel
Borgo Panigale, Bologna, 26 September 2018 – Ducati is ready to reveal, at Intermot and EICMA, all the new models for 2019 and is previewing an all-new colour scheme for the XDiavel.
The latest colour to bedeck the Ducati cruiser will be Matt Liquid Concrete Grey, a grey that goes perfectly with the "total black" of the chassis and engine. The new dark brown seat completes the sophisticated yet sporty styling, sharpening the Ducati XDiavel's already distinctive character.
The S version features a headlight with DRL (Daytime Running Light), DLC-coated fork tubes, Brembo M50 front brake calipers, dedicated machined rims and machine-finished engine belt covers. Moreover, it will continue to be available in Thrilling Black and Iceberg White, both with the red-trimmed stripe that makes the tank so eye-catching.
The XDiavel in its new colour scheme will be available in Ducati Stores starting from November onwards dependent on territory and the UK SRP will be £17195

Wheels Of Italy In Minneapolis
Local annual event held a couple weekends ago, invites owners of Italian cars and motorcycles to participate. Free to attend and participate. A guy pulled in to the event parking lot on his Harley and was promptly told to park elsewhere. Here are a few bikes guys rode in on and one cute little car (amongst a some really cool exotic cars that were there too).

1200 DVT Maiden Ride
Morning folks, took my multistrada for her 1st ride out on Sunday. Covered nearly 100 miles, I must admit I was a little apprehensive due to how tall they stand and the top heavy weight (being a girl) WELL what a fantastic bike, Ducati's always make me smile. It handled like a dream and within 30 minutes I had got used to the different riding style to my Panigale.
Must admit I did like the looks the bike got too with the decals on. Money well spent on the bike, look forward to some trips out on her ..
Put a huge smile on my face -
New Duke Blaster!
Hi all. Just took delivery of my brand new Monster 797 a couple of weeks ago. Love it. First ever Ducati after having Harleys, Kawasakis and Suzukis. Everything about the bike is awesome, except for trying to find neutral which can be a massive pain in the a*se sometimes.
Went for the white paint. Looks stunning with the red wheels and frame. Also got Laguna in Ashford to fit Termignoni pipes which also looks brilliant. As you can probably tell, I'm chuffed to bits with it. Hopefully meet up with some fellow Duke riders around Kent soon (I'm near Maidstone) -
My New S1000r
Pic before I got drenched having a 10 mile around the block ride!
First impression; very stiff, very light, shoulders and arms ache already, over 70 and you need to hold tight...smooth, easy revving, qs and blipper work perfectly even with only 20 miles on the bike.
Going to need a screen. Going to need to get up the gym. Going to need a big adjustment to riding style. Going to be a hooligan after the placid, flyingcarpet ride of the multi. -

Mv And Ducati
Wanted something a bit special to accompany the 1098R, but could deliver both the noise and performance and be more usable on the road. So landed on an MV Agusta Brutale Corsa - last of the radial valved 1078cc long stroke IL4s in a supernaked package, 1 of 250 worldwide. First time I saw her, I simply went - that's it! Here they are together... -
Ducati Manchester Situation - Resolved
So after having multiple discussions with the Team at DMC I decided to go with the deal.
Previously as stated in the the previous thread it had looked like I'd upset Martin and the team with my post.
In my opinion I did not mean for it to come a cross as it did in the way to tarnish DMC reputation. I have spoken to Martin and explained this.
I have apologised for the way it had been interpreted.
Going forward for the experience I received today....
Unfortunately Martin wasn't about for the next couple of days that I was due in to collect my new bike so Martin asured me that either Rob or Mike will welcome me to finish the deal.
Arrived at DMC mid-afternoon to be welcome by Mike and asked if I would like a coffee while they take my bike to be assessed before the hand over could happen.
While I was looking over my new bike I was approached by Chris the DMC owner who kindly asked me to his office.
Chris and the team were aware of the discussion on the forum and wanted to make... -
Lucretia - 1991 900ss Rebuild Story
Hi all
I've posted on here a few times over the last eighteen months or so for help and advice as I rebuilt my 900SS, but decided not to do a complete as-it-went thread - Wolfram-style - on here during the rebuild. Instead I had a Facebook group page for the build that I shared with a few bikey mates.
I actually finished the rebuild and got the bike running, MoTed and back on the road around the end of March this year, but a busy life has meant it’s taken me some time to get round to putting this post together, but I did want to share with you some of the lows, highs and lows along the way. Partly as an inspiration to anyone contemplating doing something similar, and partly to share the story for those that helped me along the way
The long story is that I agreed to buy the bike off a mate in Cumbria, following some idle chit chat during 2016 NEC Bike Show. He was experiencing a pre-Christmas cash crunch and needed to liquidise some assets to avoid what was described as a... -

First Sportclassic/999 Hybrid Track Spanking!
Great day with some mates at Donnington park today!
Good enough weather with only one session missed due to a splash of drizzle that didn't mix well with the Pirelli slicks. Lots learned and the next stage of the build can now begin. Got quite a nasty hot tear on the right hand side that I could feel happening on crainers and out of copse, increased compression damping to stop it squatting and put more air in and it's showed signs of cleaning up. Might take a crack at measuring swingarm angle to see what's going on. Some pictures to enjoy, there's also an onboard video if I can figure out how to put it up -
80 + Hour Detail....rr Svr
