I'm Mark - Just Purchased Monster 1200r
Hi all
I've just returned to riding after an unwanted break due to the normal things in life like parenting and finances etc. I'm absolutely delighted to be back on two wheels and this is my first Ducati and dream bike. I've ridden on and off since my teens from field bikes through to Harley's and I've spent the last six months researching the perfect bike for me... half the fun!
Being 6'6" and wanting relative comfort but craving a performance machine I arrived at the Monster and rapidly found my way to the 1200R despite originally looking at the S. The R just fits me perfectly with the extra height and every time I set on it my heart pounded... a test ride sealed it. 2 months scanning the country for the perfect bike and toying with new ended sharply with this find ironically at my local dealer! As new with 1700 miles and half of the Performance catalogue already fitted... I found my dream bike One week and 250 miles in and I'm blown away. I work for Mercedes-benz so I'm used to... -

Bought Myself A New Watch - My 1st Tag
I decided to treat myself today.
Although I've never owned a TAG Heuer, I've always loved the look of the Monaco Gulf watch. I noticed a new one a few weeks ago in a jewelers window whilst in the city centre. I looked into it and I found out that they had released this special edition watch again for 2018.
I've looked a couple of times over the past few weeks but managed to resist. Until today that is, when I had another look online and noticed a jeweler had a 10% discount code on all TAG watches. That was enough for me to pull the pin on something I was thinking of doing anyway.
You can't take it with you.(But I will take this watch with me.)

It's Home......
Just got back as left a little later than planned to avoid the rain. Really sorry @El Toro
Anyhoo, all went well, just gonna fit the tail tidy and exhaust hanger now, not much else to do really.
Verdict so far....Only running in and not broke 6k, but that motor is a torque monster.
Will post up some better pics when I lose that fuggin ugly tail and those ridiculous rear pegs.
PS, if anyone needs spares like discs, exhaust, mudguard, triple clamp etc etc, all the stuff I had replaced, just drop me a line as it will all end up on flea bay otherwise. -
Just Got Back From Bologna
Factory tour and museum visit and plenty of time to walk around Bologna. Brilliant!
Here is where we stayed: https://www.booking.com/hotel/it/app...s=1&#hotelTmpl
Excellent, modern, well-equipped apartments which will each accommodate 4 people comfortably, 10 minutes by Taxi from the airport (13 Euros), 20 minutes walk to the Ducati factory & 7 minutes by train (1 stop) into Bologna (1.3 Euro). Borgo Panigale train station is a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. There is a new Lidl supermarket across the road from the apartment, about 7 or 8 minutes on foot. The apartments are behind an electrically operated gate so felt very secure and great for parking bikes out of sight. Cost 170 Euros per apartment for 3 nights. Bologna is a lovely, interesting city and very walkable. Highly recommended! We flew Ryanair from Manchester, flights were about £60 return each, just over 2 hours flight time. -

I Am Now A Streetfighter Owner
well I have just left a deposit on an 848 Streetfighter.
Getting a service, check over and I should have it in a week or so.
Need a tail tidy and exhaust bracket and maybe bars as I have read that some others are more comfortable.
It’s got pipes and lots of carbon etc so if I need anything else it can wait.
Any tips appreciated. -

Hamburgers, craft beers, traditional dishes and pizza form an exciting new 'Land of Joy' menu
Inaugural event attended by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, and Andrea Dovizioso, flag-bearer of the MotoGP Ducati Team
A second Ducati Scrambler Food Factory, the 'Land of Joy' food experience, has opened in Bologna. This latest food factory, located in the heart of the city centre, in via d’Azeglio 34, overlooks the suggestive Corte Galluzzi and the interior of the same-named tower that dates back to the late 13th century.
Conceived to convey and share a love of flavoursome, refined eating, the new Ducati Scrambler Food Factory is characterised by vintage design yet modern taste, much like the Ducati Scrambler itself: a unique experience that begins with food and goes on to encompass art, music, customisation, events, meetings and much more.

Just Another Newbie With All The Gear & No Idea...yet!
Hello all,
Well another midlife crisis, not really, just wanted to own another motorbike, passed my motorbike test in 2013, bought a CBR600RR, did the Police BikeSafe course and the Ron Haslam track day at Donnington Park, but it then became an ornament and I ended up selling it after 18 months or so, looking back the CBR was quite small for my size and at my age the riding position wasn't comfortable, but part of me still feels like I didn't give my biking career a fair crack of the whip, so at 48 I'm back in the saddle with this thing of absolute beauty, the Ducati's 848 Street Fighter.
I've taken it out for the first time and I'm already hooked, I've made quite a few adjustments, rear brake position, set rear adjustable swing arm back to standard ride height, changed the Oberon 40mm bar riser the CNC Racing standard bar riser that was in the accompanying box of bits, upped the DTC to keep me safe whilst I learn the bike etc.
Now for the simple questions and observations,... -
Filthy Dirty ;)
To add a bit of balance with all this detailing malarkey can we have a dirtiest Ducati competition?
Thought I’d open with a summer flys pic to give the fair weather brigade a chance -

Wheels Are On
I'm so chuffed, they're on. Thanks to Sev for having motivating me (unknowingly) through images of his old bike, to get similar wheels. -
1200 Pikes Peak First Day
Picked up my new multi today, 2017 bike on this years plate. Only managed to cover 50 miles bringing it home as I had family duties. Still managed to fit my 595 Zumo and Navihalter mount, Ducati/Givi tank bag with ring, touratech side stand foot (that i kept from my hyper SP) and Ctek charging cable. Evo tech guards are going on tomorrow then hopefully Sunday I can put some miles on.
The clutch is so light, its going to take some getting used to!! -
1260 Trackday Multistrada 1260s
Been eagerly waiting for my first trackday with the MTS and today was the day.
Firstly, the bike works on track! I started in the red group (highspeed with plates) and it didn´t take many turns before I found myself scraping pegs, gearlever and brakelever keeping up with the fast pack.
Setup:
- Standard Multistrada 1260S
- Front&Rear tires at 2.1 bar cold
- Tires: OEM Pirelli Scorpion Trail II
- Ride mode: Sport
- Front suspension: Preload 3 turns in, compression and rebound electronically set to max
- Rear suspension: Preload set to max (pillon&luggage), compression and rebound electronically set to max
Engine: Punch out of corners is amazing, 2´nd or 3´rd didn´t matter much, the oomph gutted me and the bike forward with ease. On the straits I could keep up with most of the R-bikes and I saw 220kph on the long straight at Rudskogen.
Quickshifter and autoblipper: Worked really good on track. Blipping down into corners without clutch was effortless and the engine breaking helped... -
