1198 1198r
So this has just come up for sale here in France, I've just had a long chat with the vendor and it would appear all kosher. Supplied by Ducati Caen in Normandy (who I can call tomorrow), history, genuine R etc. The price is 17,000€.
Someone is viewing it tomorrow afternoon and if it doesn't go straight away, I'll be heading off on a 1000kms journey tomorrow evening.

V4 An Honest Review From A Sceptic
I just want to start off by saying that I don’t buy in to ‘launch fever’. It’ll probably be noted on this forum that I’ve been fairly on the fence and sceptical about the new v4.
Anyway I’m a current 1299 owner and I have had the v4 for the day today (covering varied roads and a fair few miles) and just wanted to share my thoughts and observations of the bike, keeping to the facts and not too much opinion.
I’ll start off with the motor, which at low revs sounds a bit like a monster onboard (no bad thing). Throttle input is better than the outgoing bike and more responsive. The motor spins up very quickly and has a smoother broader range to it.
To me it feels like the v4 has more usable power for the road and is certainly far less of a handful.
As for speed, anyone who says that this bike ‘feels’ ballistically quick clearly hasn’t ridden an s1000rr or 1299 at its full pottential. It is fast, very in fact however it doesn’t have the rush that some other litre bikes have. It’s very... -
Today Was A Special Day
Well guys and girls, it's not about Ducati but it certainly has some racing pedigreeand it was like fulfilling a boyhood dream for me
Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to a McLaren test driver day at Millbrook Proving Ground. I got to drive a McLaren 570s around the Alpine course with blind crests, jumps, accelarating flatout and breaking hard into insane off camber hairpins just like Bond in Casino Royale, around the oval track at over 130mph and down the mile straight where I reached 180mph before stamping on the brakes and lastly comparing a Porsche 911 Turbos S with the McLaren on a salom course. I didn't like the Porsche though
I've never done a car track day (and only 1 on a bike 7 years ago) and I've never been to Millbrook but I felt pretty damn good when my co driver said, "you obviously do track days"
The day ended with a couple of laps with one of the McLaren test drivers showing me what the car is capable of on a track, which left me with a... -

V4 Speciale On The Way!
I just opened an e-mail from my super helpful dealer (Claus Carstens, Ducati Schleswig-Holstein) in Germany to advise me that the Speciale I ordered at EICMA in november is 100% confirmed as mine and the build is under way, 40,205€ delivered and including the magnesium wheels. That just leaves 35,000€ to find, ha ha.
This will be my first foray into the modern Ducati world and my first new Ducati since the 916 era so I'm very much looking forward to it as according to Claus they are fantastic (he would say that wouldn't he) and easily outclass anything from the previous era!

For Sale Genuine Uk 748 Sps 1999
Hi All,
For sale, on this site only till the end of the month, I want the bike to have the best chance of staying within the forum.
1999 genuine 748 SPS, UK bike, low owners, genuine 5600 miles with great provenance of books, manuals, old mot's and lots of reciepts over the years. Comes with original gold stand, new bespoke tailored soft cover, standard heel guards and pipes boxed with fittings, it will also come with a new Harris stainless paddock stand and optimate 4 connector and has the improved Battery leads fitted, she also has carbon chainguard and rear muddy as shown.
I searched for a long time to find the best bike possible and I believe this is it, it is in showroom condition and one of 20 bought to UK in that year. I also contacted Ducati to verify the bikes details and they did and this will go with the bike of course. I bought the bike in November 2017 as an investment and an occasional rider, but alas it needs to be sold for a genuine reason. The bike was purchased... -

1200 DVT Finally Cleaned My Multi.....
After being guilted into it by @Lord Farquaad and his immaculate DVT, I removed the bellypan, and went to town on the engine with paraffin and a brush, then spent nearly the whole day cleaning the rest of the bike. Am pleasantly surprised at how well it's come up after 2 winters of salt and crap. New chain, two new tyres and it's now ready to go.(Note Ducati forum stickers on screen)
