Bike Forums
Just wanted to put a quick post on here to say, 'thanks for great motorcycle forum'!
Wether dropping in for information for touring, tyres, what ever there is a great wealth of knowledge (probably due to age of t members....lol), but also good humour in discussion areas. Usually people keep the lid on personal attacks, if not admin 'manage' the situation' well.
In case your wondering what has brought this on, no I am not being sponsored (though have just subscribed) I have just visited another manufacturers UK forum (German,,,I know, I know..) and have once again witnessed down right rude replies to a post from the forum admin/owner. Arrogant tw@t to sum up.
Anyway, it has prompted me appreciate this great forum even more.
Cheers for 2018 all.
Keep up the good work. -
Getting My 916 In Two Weeks!
Hey all,
So as the title says - yepp im getting my dream bike in approx 2 weeks.
Now you might laugh but... "newbie hangout" is very fitting here. You see, i passed my test on the 9th Nov. (2 months ago) Hadn't rode a bike since i had a KMX in the 90's..
So my dream bike will sit in my garage for a long time until ive got my riding skills up to more than a DAS pass rate.
Anyway im glad to be here and thx for having me. If anybody can point me in the direction of finding a rear paddock stand it would be very much appreciated.

Impulse Buying Strikes Again
It's happened again, impulse buying at it's best (I have absolutely no willpower) Popped into a dealership last Saturday as I was passing to look at a Multistrada 1260 with a view to buying one in the future. Then I started a search for a new 1200s as they looked good value but all of a sudden, I'm now an owner of a 1200s Pikes Peak which is going to be registered as a 2018 plate
Now have 8 weeks to lose a few pounds to fit in my leathers again -
Fulfilling The Agreement.. When You Think Youll Never Have To Pay...
So last year I entered into a deal with the other half: I could get a bike if she could have a baby.. "No problem" said I thinking that will never happen. I passed my test and bought a M821 the same day, then on arriving home I discovered a stick with 2 lines on it .
Well very happy to say daughter no.3 arrived this morning at 3amhappy new year everyone.. ride safe

Happy New Year
To those of you choosing to and are able to celebrate, enjoy yourselves but keep safe and look after each other. To those of you who would like to but are unable to, I wish you a better 2018. To those who choose not to or just can’t be arsed for whatever reason, just do something that you enjoy. To all, I wish you whatever you would wish for yourselves for the coming year. Onwards and upwards you happy band, warm regards, Andy -

Swirls
Well...i started on the paint of the recently acquired 1198s and 851, both of which had a fairly standard amount of paint defects, one or two minor stone chips with which i can live for the time being.
Both had fairly heavy swirling, made more obvious as i have a few spot lights in the garage.
1198s tank
Anyway, i got the d.a polishers out and started to make a bit of progress ( I use a das6+ and a veritool mini)
And the 851....
Anyway, ill upload more pics throughout the winter as i make more progress.
Roll on spring time eh?! -
1200 7 Years And 82,500 Miles. Owners Report
Hi Guys,
Sorry for not posting very often, life has been a bit hectic of late but I thought I'd summarise my Multistrada experience so far.
My bike is a 2010 S with the touring parts added and the Ohlins semi-active SCU. I have a Mivv system but for the last couple of years I have just used the standard exhaust. My wife and I tour Europe 2-up for our holidays and this year having moved into semi-retirement we have had the time for longer tours.
As I use my bike in km, I filled up the odometer last year and found that when it gets to 99999 it just stops counting up. I passed by Bologna so I dropped in to the factory to ask how to reset it. "Buy a new speedo" I was told.
So this year with virgin clocks fitted we started this year's touring. New chain (the fourth since new) new belts and a check of the valves (one shim changed so far since new) and new for this year Garmin bluetooth valve caps to talk to the Zumo 660 on my left bar. I also have a Tomtom 430 front and centre for... -
1200 DVT Got Fed Up With My Scruffy Cat....
Tinkering in the man cave this afternoon and got fed up of looking at the scruffy cat on my DVT.
A few hours later after whipping out the spray gun, a tin of Granville cylinder black and some white spirit.....looks the part, let's see how it lasts? -
Monster Alloy Tank
I picked up my new Alloy Tank today from Tab 2 Classics. In West Wales, this is the first significant phase in turning my 2007 695 Monster into a 1980 Style TT Special.
Next in line, Seat , Fairing & Pipes all ready for the 2018 track parade season. -
I Finally Got My Mv...
The MV I purchased a little more than a month ago finally showed up... Of course now its really cold so I was limited to a quick run around the block. Seems promising definitely different than either of my Multistradas.
A Beautiful machine without a doubt. -

Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year!
From da management!
As I may not be on here much tomorrow (apparently I have "jobs" to do, and then #1 son and family are coming in the afternoon so I may be busy playing with Lego) I thought I'd post this now whilst I can.
Firstly thank you for making this forum absolutely brilliant and second to none. It is nothing without your input of wit, humour, knowledge, expertise, passion, compassion etc. I salute you all
I/we hope that you and your families have a great Christmas and that 2018 is both happy and prosperous and will be far better year than 2017 has been!
Have a great time over the festive season and hopefully I will get to meet more of you next year.

This Will Take You Back...
Someone posted this excellent vid on the KTM forum and I thought I'd share it. A short film about scrambling from the 1960's.
The picture quality is superb, it could have been shot yesterday.
Not as fast as today's moto-crossers of course, but still good and no body armour in sight. A wooly jumper is all you need.
Who knew Greeves scramblers could wheelie so well. I want one.
Enjoy:
