Time for a bit of an update, I fitted the Oberon clutch slave cylinder and the 14 tooth front sprocket, both have made a really big difference which is great. I've also fitted a R&G tail tidy, with some smaller indicators and a slightly 'ahem' small number plate! Currently my garage looks like this.... I have taken the exhaust off to get polished, the kick stand, rear brake lever, shift lever and both peg mounting brackets are off getting anodised black, I've also got a DP Carbon belly pan to fit. Whilst all the panels are off I'm giving it all a mega deep clean. Before all the panels go back on it's off to Baines Racing to have a belts service, the Ohlins rebuilt (again, as they weren't done long before I bought it) and then the suspension set up for me.
Would like my top yoke hard anodised black tbh, cant find anywhere local though, where did you send your parts? Might attempt the exhaust polish myself over winter
Using these guys, Anodising Kent, Anodising South East | Star Anodising & Finishing Ltd. seemed friendly and helpful on the phone, posting them the parts and should be with me in 5 days, will let you know how it goes.
There is this one Matt - Ducati Superbike 1198 Ducabike Italy Upper Triple Clamp - GP Edition PSS05D | eBay There is also a Ducabike one but it is £250, from Conquest Carbon.
If you take the plastic covers off the back of the headlights ie the bits you remove to change the bulbs, then drill a 2mm on each of them at the bottom. Job done!
All the anodised black bits will be back with me tomorrow, they only got them on Monday lunchtime so pretty happy with that turnaround!! I will update with pics when I get my hands on them.
Thats where i was going to put them tbh, on my rsv, it had the same lamps but no covers .... makes me wonder why the covers are there really
They are about 5 mins from me. I have used them before and do good work. Best to get a big batch together as there is a min charge.
I've managed to spend the afternoon in the garage and sorted lots of little jobs: Polished up all the carbon Refitted all the anodised bits Removed rear wheel and polished swing arm and wheel Fitted speedymoto frame sliders Cleaned/polished everything underneath the panels. Overall I'm very happy with the condition of the bike and how the new parts have turned out, I'm not just waiting collect my polished exhaust next week and for my carbon lower to turn up. I'm still on the look out for a carbon V piece and a Ducati Performance fuel cap.
Have got my hands on a DP carbon V now which is great and the DP Bellypan will be here this week, also ordered some LED running lights and some slimline HIDs. All that's left now is to get some levers, ( I'm thinking shorty brake lever and standard clutch) a DP Billet fuel cap, and a new tank....( someone kindly bonded a carbon protector to mine!!!!)
I am fortunate enough to be on standby at work so I spent the day in the garage again! Today I bonded a new mesh in the rear seat fairing which had come out, polished and waxed it and refitted it. Also removed the front wheel for cleaning and took most of the front end apart to clean/wax/polish. I think I need to attend carbon addicts anonymous as I'm pretty sure I'm going get a carbon rear lower seat panel, a carbon under dash lower panel and a carbon dash cover!
I also removed all the carbon panels and polished/waxed them as well as the side fairings and they now reside under our bed! Much to my wife's enjoyment!! I'm really impressed how easy and straight forward it is to work on so far!
Front disks off, wheel polished and waxed, loctite applied and re torqued, wheel back on. Front fairing removed and everything cleaned and polished, will wait for HIDs to arrive before refitting so I can easily fit them.
Holy shit, that is ridiculously clean. I'll do you those pictures today mate, of the hid's - was snowed under yesterday. They are so easy to fit you can put it back together now.
