  13. The are so many better uses for a field: growing turnips, grazing cattle, picnics, filming Benny Hill chase sequences, banger racing, motocross tracks...

  15. I cannot believe the gall of Blatter. In any order industry he would have taken the responsibility of all the wrong doings, past and present, and would have been long gone. Even bankers fell on their swords a few years ago!!

FIFA, and in particular Blatter, do not seem to fall under normal rules and regs nor even under legislation. How can that be??

I don't believe that he knew nothing about any of the alleged corruption. He's certainly not stupid or blind, and he's most definately in the thick of it all. And even IF he didn't know he is ultimately responsible for his teams actions!

This whole thing stinks and if he should win a fifth term then EUFA should pull out of FIFA.

  16. The whole thing about FIFA is that it is intrinsically ridiculous, as each country is worth the same as another. So, American Samoa has the same weight as German, San Marino the same weight as the UK. This encourages also-rans to assume positions of power. FIFA is also about soccer wealth distribution, so there are flows to small countries where the amount is far greater, proportionally than it is in large countries. As governance is pretty shonky in most parts of the world, you'd expect corruption to be the norm rather than the exception.

it's also worth noting that if the Prem is full of African players, it is in no small part due to FIFA. You don't imagine that all these people are playing barefoot in the sand until they arrive in the Prem, so clearly money is indeed favouring football in these countries and giving people the opportunity to attain a high level in the sport. Blatter's adherents would point to this.

Doesn't mean that I don't detest the smug, jumped-up dictator of a homunculus. You wonder how much UEFA needs FIFA.

  17. I want to see more ladies football, the American type :Bored:

  18. I'm sure there are far more pressing matters in the world that should take up top news than bloody feetball.
