  2. 700 miles in, best thing I ever did was purchasing this bike. Little Motorapido delivery today, new seat and a nice cover to keep it dust free over winter

  6. Holding you partly responsible! Hope all is well!! Have a great Christmas

  7. I did also get this one. But it needs a little more work…

In peoples experience who would be the go to for a carbon front mudguard out of interest? I like it on the yellow one think I’d like to get one for the 996 also.

    cheers

  8. I have one from RSR Moto. It was very reasonable and fits well. I find the holes are usually too small with their stuff and need to be fettled. Other then that I have some bits from Maxi Carbon in Italy. Very good quality but very slow production. If they have something in stock I would buy it but if they have to make it it's painfully slow.

  13. Thought I’d get started on the slightly less complete 996 I collected last weekend, going to build this one into a little lightly modified track Aimed bike.

gone with a nice anthracite colour on the frame and wheels along with a nice subframe I got on eBay the other week, I also got some fairings off a local chap the other day which he has from motorapido when he had a 996 when they were new. So will do re fairings on this one too

    merry Christmas everyone

  14. Hope everyone had a good Christmas,

started making lists for the 996 today, fairings, tank, airbox all removed so I can do the belts, bike seems in nice condition so far, just age related rubber perishing being the worst of it so far.

There is a guy local to me tbat has come highly recommended who is having the rear shock for a re build, and I am going to get the forks out and tubes re plated before they get any worse by a company in Solihull.

got the correct paint ordered for the wheels, get my order in with Luke at motorapido and we’ll be away

  17. @Olly snow, just thinking I might have got Monday wrong. It might actually be Tuesday as for you working types, Monday is the carryover new year bank holiday. Apologies. Andy

  18. Cracked on today, mostly stripped for all the maintenance. Got rid of the awful after market indicators and the carbon hugger!

Will do the belts one night this week, and will fit the termis I had on the 996 once I have re packed them… would be nice if anyone has had this pleasure before.
Rear shock bolt soaked ready for removal this week also.

  19. Productive weekend.

Belts done, rear shock out which of course was a delight in standard Ducati fashion. Few more bits are I’ve today, have gone for some samco hoses again as I was really happy with the last set, have some new grips, and all the other items ordered with Luke at motorapido.

also got the rear wheel painted today and the new rubber arrived too

Shock is being rebuilt this week and also gone for a different spring to try get this set up as good as possible.
