V4 First Panigales V4 On The Road And 'plated'

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by mito22, Jan 6, 2018.

  1. Yes...cane it

  2. Just 48 hours of patience then

  3. I would ignore power figures (or magazine hp as it's known). the acid test is the torque curve and how long it can maintain the bulk of it's torque and then how much over-rev it has, all of which will be crucial to make it quicker on track and the road, if it pulls cleanly from 5k revs and pulls all the way to 13k revs rather than say (8k to 12k) then it will be better to ride, agree though it's likley to be down on measured power up to the top few k RPM's.

  4. Just dropped my 959 in for 2nd service and they have a v4S on the showroom

I wasn’t keen at the NEC show but the finished production version has grown on me. Can’t stop thinking it looks like a Honda VFR sport tourer though. V twin panigale definitely better looking.

The v4 does feel quality though and is well packaged and engineered. Too much plastic though and I can’t get away with that frame. If they had to do it they should have done steel trellis.

I bet it’s something else to ride though.

  5. They probably are now :)

  6. Any idea when the bike press doing reviews on them seems strange they have been released before been reviewed by the press

  7. I heard 44teeth are with Ducati this month and I’d imagine they’ll be wanting to get the video together sharpish...

  8. Press launch 21st January according to our sales department. Andy

  9. Hi folks - has anyone got a V4 insured yet. I'm really struggling to get anyone to quote.
    Thanks

  11. Unsurprising given the press launch isn't until Sunday. It is unlikely that any of the general motoring underwriters have looked at it yet. You could try BeMoto who are specialist bike insurers or Ducati Insurance (who are just another broker) but if they can't I'll be having the same problem. Andy

  12. Just spoken to DI and if you ring them, 03448800960 option 1, it will have to be referred to a specialust underwriter on a case by case risk based assessment. If you currently ride a hyper sports bike it should just be a matter of swallowing when they tell you the cost of the premium. Andy

  13. So far I've spoken to DI and all the normal ones. 3 have said no. One have quote £1000. to put that in context a 1299s would be £350... :(

  14. BeMoto have been quoting for the V4 but you need to phone them not fill a form in on the Internet. Andy

  15. I'll try them, thanks

  16. Hey thanks Andy - spoke with BeMoto and have something that should work. Appreciate the help.

  17. Pleased you got sorted. I’m hoping by the time mine is delivered there will be no problems. Fair to say though, I’m 64 and have the maximum NCB underwriters are prepared to offer and I already insure a 1098R. Andy

  18. Love this tweet on the subject.
