1200 DVT Fork Seals Gone ?

  1. Got my DVT back from the dealer yesterday - they replaced the fork seal and refilled with the required amount. It's perfect again. You begin realise just how important decent damping is to brake performance.

  3. Trouble with fork seals, it's all labour and very little in the way of parts. Dealers get reimbursed for parts and not labour so they have no interest in doing these under warranty. They probably didn't even bother asking Ducati.

  4. Did they say why? Did you push them? My dealer made no quibble - I simply made mention of it and before I could finish my sentence they were demanding they had it back to fix, which they've now done and they turned it around in a morning. Fork seals are one of those things that could be interpreted as a grey area in that they are a serviceable part but not to the extent of cables, etc, where the degradation is pretty much expected. They should have a serviceable life for at least the warranty period on a new bike. They are also a component which can have major safety implications, particularly on upside down forks.
