Didn't rate Gambia. Went on an all inclusive prison style holiday in 2001 where you're advised to stay within a compound. Coastal erosion had led to a graveyard starting to empty human remains out onto the shore. After a day I went up the river on a 4 day excursion which was slightly better. Saw some animals, stayed in a mud hut, made peanut butter and had breakfast stolen by monkeys type of thing. Had some great chats with people who had fled Sierra Leone. Was really glad to leave though. Won't be going back.
I'm not going, many thanks to everyone.... It sounds like it's gone down hill, which is a pity. I used to go every year, mainly to catch up on OU course work and miss the UK's Jan/Feb. THREAD CLOSED Please @El Toro
