I found that the gear indicator really doesn’t like to see neautral on my 1199 and also doesn’t indicate 6th gear as top it stays on 5? Any ideas here? I can find neautral by the way, just the dash doesn’t show it
Found there has been an issue with this and a tech bulletin released to re calibrate the gear position switch https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10086369-5448.pdf
My 899 did exactly the same. I had it recalibrated by Glen at moto V which fixed it for only for one day then back to the way it was before. Quick call to Glen to order a new gear change indicator sensor and once fitted the problem was solved. The faulty switch seemed to make my bike run lumpy in the low gears. Apparently this is caused by false fueling as the ECU doesn't understand what gear the bike was in. In think this is a common issue on the panigale as Glen said he has changed loads of them.
