1299 Gearing Change Opinions

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Hamos, Feb 13, 2016.

  1. I've got some OZ wheels on the way for my base 1299.
I've been thinking about going 2 teeth up on the rear when the wheels are changed. Anyone done this on the 1299? Opinions. I know it would need a new chain etc.

There is nothing wrong with the acceleration, but as most of my riding is on the road, i don't need 186mph and prison food. 2 up on the rear would not reduce the likelihood of prison, but just wanted to see if anyone has done this, thinking of it, or just any opinions.

  2. Did it on my 1199 and its well worth doing in my opinion. I used the R gearing (41t vs 39t on my S) and can see why it's standard on the R model.

It won't make an enormous difference but definitely enough to notice. I also find I tend to use more gears now

    Hope that helps

Thinking of doing it anyway on the wheel change. Can always change back!
