I thought the brakes were fine for the road too (but I try not to use them cos they slow me down LOL), would think a set of decent brake lines would help too. Why do the Japanese still fit those bl**dy rubber things? I also test rode the S1000XR Beemer and I have to say the MT-10 has left more of an impression on me. Enjoy it Stonesie!
I am having one : ) I have done near 10k on the tracer I bought last summer.. No probs at all and after riding in all weathers will clean up to near showroom condition.. Fast and reliable I upgraded the suspension to make the handling from average to excellent..but that was my choice! After this the MT10 just has to be done : )..
beauty in the eye of the beholder looks like a transformer front looks horrid but bet the R1 engine is brilliant . i had one for 9 years. what is wind blast like at speed?
The deflection according to tests is very well designed giving Far more than looks would suggest I am more than happy to dip forward for the private road stuff ; )..
The wind blast at motorway speed is about in the middle of my chest but not as strong as it was on my Street Triple and my head is in clean air, no buffeting and much less wind noise than on the Multistrada with it's Puig sport screen, which was quieter than the touring screen. The looks will always divide opinions, but if they had made it bland/generic looking then they would have been slated for playing it safe. It's really growing on me.
I wouldn't have said they had to change to bland... Just something else other than that, but, its down to the buyer.... Personally I wouldnt but anything that has to grow on me from a looks point of view.... It has to be, for me, something that I open the garage door, and then say to myself "I fucking own that...." what I've got in the garage in the moment does that every time, and then some... Please, carry on with the reviews though, very interesting to hear your thoughts...
Yamaha must be nuts if they don't do aTracer version of the Mt-10, but apparently Jeff Turner of Yamaha UK has said they won't because of the range of accessories available for it. Unfortunately for me none of the accessories resolve the crippled range.
For me, bad fueling is always sorted out on the dyno....ive not had a bike yet that's come off the dyno and been worse on fuel....theyre always better...last long range stint on my z1000 (dyno'd at CJS) from Bristol to Silverstone (and not hanging around either) cost just over 20 quid in fuel which I think is pretty good...
For me the issue isn'the poor fuelling, throttle response is fine. It just drinks like Oliver Reed, on a bender. 35mpg on my test ride! !!
Maybe I should correct myself....every bike that's been on the dyno (of mine) has gone faster, drove better and fuel economy has gone up - id hazard a guess of about 10%...
Ive not ridden the zed for a few weeks - its off the road for a couple of months now waiting for samco to manufacture hoses from my original set...apparently can take up to 2 months to do...but when its back on the road ill make a note of my fuel economy...but its way better than that...!
Yeah it's not brilliant on fuel, mines around 38mpg and the dash seems pretty accurate on that. I will see how it goes but i think after its run in an exhaust and remap will be a priority.
I looked at Stonesie's bike last week..... Impressive looking thing, much better than the other Multi that J&S have in their showroom
Got to agree with that, just could do with a front tyre but aside from that it knocks the spots off the other one.
