Got An Ebay Sellers Warning.

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Wassy, Jan 17, 2017.

  1. It was a lower fairing panel off a 1098 of all things for about £40! I was selling both lower fairings together and a chap emailed me asking to buy just one so i agreed and asked him to text me so I could give him my PayPal address. I've done a lot bigger deals outside eBay, not sure why they picked up on that one. You're right about exchanging details in order to view an item. I suppose it to what intent you give details in the messages you exhange in emails. They'll never make it water tight but eBay does seem to be trying to tighten up.

  2. Have found buying and selling on face ache to be less stressful than ebay and it cuts out the ebay commission

  3. Well by the sounds of it Ebay are worried about the amount of money that they're losing in commission. I think that they've seem to have forgotten an old saying really. "that less is more" If they charged more sensible fees then more people would be happy to use both Ebay & Paypal. I'm on the thought process of closing both my Ebay & Paypal A/C's, can't say that I use them to buy or sell a great deal in general.

If I'd not have had loads of stuff from my old bikes to sell in the last 3 months i'd have closed them ages ago. Now Paypal have decided to restrict the time it takes to withdraw funds its a joke when you pay for a service and don't get it. Cheeky Twa7s really.

  4. Sold an item on eBay on Saturday. The buyer paid for it 2 days later. Once I sent the item and tracking number, he said he had ordered the wrong item and wanted to cancel. His bid had been lodged for 4 days before the auction's end. :Meh: I had already paid for postage and dropped it off, so I refused. He's now filed a claim through Paypal saying it was unauthorised use of his account. Paypal have held the funds. :Banghead:

Well, I have the e-mails from Omar :Meh: blatantly stating that he wanted to cancel and is now trying it on. Let's hope Paypal can see through it.

I hate selling on eBay. :punch:

  5. I'll give stuff to charity before I'll sell anything via that circus.

And yes - I do have stuff I could sell. Not great stuff but I do have stuff. So there.

  6. Well, they saw through Omar within minutes. :)
