  1. The Marrowbone & Cleaver is a great pub with great food. If it was local to me, I'd be there all the time. We sat and chatted to his old man for hours. Nice bloke. His sister is nice too. I liked it. Oddly enough, I have their T-Shirt on today at work. Kirmo looks a nice place. In fact I really like North Lincs.

Bangers, mash and onion gravy and several pints of doom bar was nice.

Everyone is entitled to be a grump or have a grump. Thats life.

  2. Could you clarify, are you talking guy or jensen?

  3. I remember being on the Island ferry a few years back coming back from the TT.
We were talking to a few fellow bikers and there was this chap and his little lad who was about 10.
The lad had a Guy t-shirt on and I asked if he was a fan as I had seen Guy on the ferry earlier.
His dad said they had bumped into him earlier on the ferry and he asked Guy for his autograph for his lad.
Guy said that he has got to see a man about a dog and he’d be back in 5 minutes.
Needless to say he never came back and left the lad in tears.
I’ve seen John Mac, who has actually won a fair few TT’s, sign 100’s of autograph’s at a sitting. I’m sure he has grumpy days but he remembers that respect goes both ways and he is a total gentleman. One of us.
All this crap about just wanting to be a truck mechanic wears thin after a while.

  4. Yeh, i believe he likes to be left alone, not in an unfriendly way, just he's uncomfortable dealing with people.

Quite funny reading about him trying to explain about the monkey.

  5. I'm talking about Guy Martin - if he is not comfortable dealing with the public then why make a TV series and several books ?? Joey Dunlop was shy and uncomfortable in public but he was always a true gentleman when I met him. Sorry - I'm not usually so negative about people and not into celebrity stuff but to upset parents and little children in this way was disgraceful.

  6. Met McGuiness last weekend at Jurby - a nicer , more modest man you could not meet !! A true gentleman. Yes it was very diappointing to see Guy Martin in this way - I was a fan of his before that. His dad was very cool - riding an old RG500 and very friendly. I do n't ask for autographs or photos - not my thing - but if put yourslef in the public eye then you must expect that

  9. Maybe so - there are no winners on this - I was a fan of his previously but after this event I was very disappointed. He definetely alienated a lot of potential new fans - such a shame for everyone

  10. The man is making a living, paying bills and if he gets to drive a grand prix car or a go kart down a hill or travel, then why not. There is a difference dealing with a controlled team and the public. Some people seem to take offence that someone won't take time to acknowledge them, rather than respecting other peoples space.

Someone's fame does not give others the right to impose on them.

The man made his name racing, the man is charismatic which is the appeal for TV.

Seriously, someone doesn't sign a programme or smile for a photo and that's makes them a bad person, seriously.

  11. Agree north Lincs is ok, Pete boast who does the flat track is nearby absolute top banana not sure if he raced the classic tt just now, we all went to a local pub on our break at the school that had a bike in a case and walls full of bike pics, they luv bikes in Lincs and cadwell is proper well thought of everywhere

  12. Sorry to disagree - I never asked him for a photo or an autograph - thats not my thing. I simply went to a race meeting to see some old classic bikes racing. It was n't a championship event or anything - people paid money to see Guy Martin as he was main billing on the event and he treated young kids and parents disgracefully. Not me - as I did not want a photo or anything else but it was how he treated other people that anoyoed me - especially kids - no call for that !Never met your heros as someone said !!

  13. Ive done Boasty's flat track school twice now and we're going again soon to do the next level. Love it. Didnt know you could have so much fun dicking around on 100cc hondas. The sausage rolls in that pub, The Bottle and Glass, were so yummy I must've scoffed the lot.

You can disagree EPS, you can only call it how you saw it. :)

  14. Just a reminder folks that Guy Martin is on channel 4 tonight at 9pm with a superfast JCB.

  15. Well congratulations is in order to GM and JCB / others for their landspeed record attempt in a highly modified tractor with 135mph recorded on the two runs down the stripway & a top speed 153mph.Boy this man gets involved in some very exciting projects.

  16. I enjoyed that. :) :upyeah:

Looking forward to him in Japan next week. If ever there was a place that he wouldn't fit in, but his child like curiosity and outlook would make for a good watch, it's Japan. :) I wonder if he'll fly long haul 1st class with his Scania overalls and rigger boots on?
