Careful you don't stray into Poundland And definitely not all their stuff is shite. As said, the tooling they sell is perfectly adequate for the home enthusiast. Ok, it's not SnapOn but it doesn't need to be. They stock loads of decent cleaning products too. Get in there (again) knock yerself out.....
You mean one of these? I have one and it seems fine. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/040...MIs-Sgs_TZ2gIVxrDtCh11dQkAEAQYBCABEgJQ5_D_BwE
Ive a Halfords socket set for 27yrs. Its still complete and Ive only replaced the 14mm 1/2" socket due to my own over enthusiastic attempt to remove a seriously siezed nut. Wifey bought me it for our 1st xmas. Its done everything Ive asked of it and I still have all the screwdriver, allen bits and everything. Ive added to it from Halfords over the years and it forms the backbone of my spannering. I rate their tools as they're good value and do the job you ask of them.
Always bought from the Halford's professional range as they've been more than good enough for the enthusiast. If they ever failed, only one ever did, they lived upto the guaranty of a straight swap replacement. Because of that I tend to buy their stuff without any concern.
No, I bought the Pro 236 - it is really long so difficult to get to some bolts and the audible beep gives no warning until you've passed the torque so easy to over tighten stuff. Due to the position of the display and the length of the wrench, even if you set it to the live torque setting it is almost impossible to watch the torque figure whilst tightening bolts. Not used the one you have but it looks as though it won't suffer the same problems as the display looks much easier to watch. I must be old fashioned though, I find it much easier to have the one that clicks when you reach the torque.
That one beeps faster till you reach the torque then does a solid tone. (Pretty sure it does, haven't used it in s while)
Halfords tool are excellent these days. You can often get items on sale and the lifetime guarantee is impressive. I've yet to have to use it, despite having a garage full of Halfords professional range tools. As has been said, the Trade Card can make some good value items even sweeter. Halfords is the only place I can locate Meguiars car shampoo locally too.
When will socket set manufacturers realise that we want colour coded sockets, rainbow or resistor sequence? Also can they supply a 5 off of the 10mm in each kit please.
I can see halfords from my house (which is handy). Get all my socket related tools from there and other stuff.... Nothing had broken and all stays in good condition.
My only complaint about Halfords socket sets isn't the tools themselves which seem excellent, it's the case they come in. A few of the locating mouldings that are supposed to hold the tools in place have lost their snap so when you close the lid stuff falls out. Quite annoying.
