As the subject says, I'm in my late seventies and had Ducati's for a number of years, I need a light bike (currently have a Street Triple RS). I so miss having a Ducati, they really are special. But there's nothing in the line up that's a straight fit. The new Monster is a bit meh, according to dealers and Ducati Italy no plans to bring a better equipped version out with the 210bhp engine and better brakes. So I'm thinking Streetfighter V2S. But no lower seat, or lowering kit (something they did on the 955 version) I've contacted a few suspension specialists (sadly no response from Ohlins). So have you lowered yours? Just need 20mm.
Maxton did the lowered suspension cartridge kit and rear shock for our Monster 937 and definitely worth asking. KTech did a cartridge kit for my Scrambler but more expensive than Maxton. Looked at Nitron who are an alternative but chose Maxton at the time. Andy
I've written to Maxton, KTech unable to help. Maxton unable to help and in fact warn against it. Also contacted Ohlins, they can't help. Also spoke with a very good seat guy and he agrees not possible to remove padding to lower the seat height. No new streetfighter for me.
