  2. While were going retro i used to have a shoei years ago and its nickname was a "skull" - it was a bit too big for me (second lid) but it literally followed the lines of your head hence the name, had a really thin chin bar (that replicated the jaw)...only available in Japan (at the time) never been able to find a pic of it though...

  3. Age pista - love it really light, noisey but it's a track lid ........

  4. AGV even

  10. To be fair is £1000 really a lot to protect your head?

  11. Horse for courses obviously , but some may argue 1000 is a lot when there is equally protective gear out there at 500?

  12. Apologies, I have now realigned myself ;)

  13. Yep its everyones own decision to make. Their money do they can do WTF they like with it. But £1k is still not a lot to keep your head safe in the scheme of thing.

  14. I love my Shoei NXR - Valkerie with photochromatic visor, its light, small and not noisy at speed and a lid you can where all day and track with it does everything.

  15. @Advikaz

I am using the above helmet.
    Pros
Very quiet for a track helmet.
Easy to open and close. (at least compared to my Shoei)
Doesn't whants to lift up(or move) even at high speed.
The clearest visor I ever seen.
    A lot of vents.
    Cons
Difficult to get on/off (need to pull tabs to side)
Oldish desing, probably latest generation of top brands have moved on...
Difficult to remove the visor (it came with clear and smoke)
Top air vents need to be moved with care otherwise will come off.(can be pushed back)

    I paid £530 back in 2014..now around £400

Try as many as you can on, see if the vents colse properly(less gap around edges=less noise)
Generally speaking as more track/race orientated as more noisy they will be.
Fitting chin curtain or all round courtain does help a lot with noise(had his on my Shoei)

Can you buy and take it back to shop after first ride?
