Oops! Thought the 'Are you sure?' was for me, which is why I've posted all these quotes, pics, part diagrams etc. Useful exercise though, because it now seems certain this part is right for my master cylinder and that it is currently available from KTM dealers
Took the bike for a spin today to test the levers. Love 'em! Not only do they look loads better than the oem ones, they work better too. They feel more positive in their action and two finger braking feels a lot more comfortable and natural. I didn't adjust the length of the pushrods and they seem to be just right so, all in all, a great big thumbs up!
How weird is this? I have received my £3.60 boot/cup and tried to fit it today. I removed the new lever and pulled out the torn rubber from the m/c. I can quite understand if you guys find this hard to believe because I do myself - there was another one behind the torn one! Not wishing to tear that one getting it out, I took the pushrod out of the lever and squeezed it into the second rubber boot. I was then able to fit the lever to the pushrod, in situ, and keep the new boot as a spare. No wonder the front brake felt a tad spongy...
Maybe they are assembled by machine and the machine picked up two that were stuck together? It does mean presumably though that the pushrod could only have been properly located in the outer boot. Given the trouble we have in locating it in one boot, it seems unlikely that it could have been properly located in both. No obvious sign of damage to the inner boot though. Can't help wondering how isolated this is and if it's worth looking for if no amount of bleeding will cure a slightly spongy brake or clutch...
