Twat I am, I've only just offered up the new internals to the oem and there is a difference in height. Checked the receipt and it definitely says I've bought the hypermotard 821 internals. I own the hyperstrada (non low version). I hastily bought them as they went on sale as i had them saved to my browser bookmarks. And from what i read online, the standard hypermotard and standard hyperstrada had the same internals... There is a difference in height. Plus the air gap is different. I do not own a low version of the strada So i phoned brooks suspension and they said tbf they would of thought they where the same internals. Only difference being the sp taller and the Asian market low version. So I'm sending them back for a refund.. 1-2 weeks for the strada version to be delivered from Italy.. @Keith_P I do hope you didn't buy from the link I sent, otherwise you'll have the same problem as its a starda 939.. Bugger
Urgh. As far as I know, the 'strada has shorter forks that the 'motard (821 & 939), so I'd have thought Brookes would have known this. I'm still dithering about whether to order for my 939 - I'll call Brookes today I think. Hope yours gets sorted...
The tool i bought from brooks to undo a part of the oem left fork didn't fit either. And that tool was specified by k-tech.. Brooks also said they won't match the sale price for the strada cartridge kit but would strike me a deal.. I'm tempted to just say bugger it. Put oem all back together, say ive learnt how to install new seals and fluid and take the oem forks apart completely and Enjoy my upcoming camping trip and wait till winter to do it if funds allow.
Skip the Brookes solution, I found they could never resolve it, I have the MUPO solution fitted, bought it from Dave Croft, try him and see if its still available, its night and day different, also the 939 Hyperstrada only has an active cartridge in one leg, weird I know !! https://www.mupo.it/product/sp/?lang=en
