Have you tested it out? I've got it on number 1 DWC in sport mode, full Termi with airbox lid and remap etc. I can wheelie without but just wanted to see if the assist actually works
Switch it on & try it. I have the full works too but enjoying the bike more on the twistys than the back wheel alone. It comes up easier than the 821 but I’m no wheelie merchant unlike your good self
So, it finally happened - and as luck would have it, I saw it! A mate & myself were out hooning it on a Husky 701 & my 698 when we decided to swap machines. And later, 10 minutes into the ride was when I saw the 698 ‘toolbox’, fly off the bike & into the kerbside. Obviously, I returned to collect it. So it can happen people! Those 2 grommets aren’t really enough to stop it flapping in the wind. Unless they get replaced on a recall like the poppers at the rear of the seat did?
With the non-street-legal Termignoni exhaust and mapping, my Ducati 698 shines. Below 6000 RPM, it feels tame, but from 3,000 RPM, it’s a dream for city riding—perfect for lane-splitting with precise control. My KTM 890 SMT offers more low-end torque but demands more focus. The 698 can cruise relaxed, almost scooter-like, though you’ll need to work the clutch. Once you adapt, muscle memory takes over, and it feels effortless. I love its dual nature: a smooth scooter at low RPM, a ferocious beast at high RPM. This mono is easier to handle in the city than my parallel KTM twin.
I lost mine in one of my first rides. There is a slightly updated version sold now with a different part number but I cable tied mine on to the bike. It’s still there currently.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335927415452 Now that is a bargain, I paid £1500 for mine!! And £250 to have it fitted!!
I’m curious, is the revised map for ‘race’ Termignoni on the 698 a download from Ducati and tied to the VIN like the Panigale and Akrapovic ? Andy
True, it could shoot up in the last few hours. I will be selling mine and putting it back to standard around this time next year as I'm going for a change next May
