  1. Pics to follow!!!! If my bike was at home!!!.....

Imagine if you would.....lots of swearing!!!! Not....done! All insured....taxed! Went over to my best mates place, he’s been on my case for years to get my bike on the Rd again so we can go out for a ride!....I get to his place, have a photo! We start off and I get about 200 yards!

not charging now!! (The prick) ✌️
On the plus side I have a photo

  2. Oh! On the plus side and after a bit of research, my frame is a 98 foggy rep frame! It was supposed to be a 99 biposto!! That might also explain the internals in the engine when I tore it down! My next step is to email Ducati to see what they know

  3. Update.....I ordered a oil feed line for the heads! I got sent the wrong one, I believe it’s for an early 916!
Dose anyone know if I can use a double banjo bolt at the rad and run independent lines to the heads??

anyway, other than a slight oil leak the bike goes very well once it fires up

  7. Note!!

  8. you might be right!! I warned someone else about this in another thread and got laughed at

    shim behind the fly wheel!!
Look at it stuck to the magnetic plug! It’s ruined the starter, the spray, and all parts in close proximity, I’m waiting for parts and to see if I need to do a full re-build.....on the bright side you lot get a whole new thread

  11. A quick update, I have stripped her back, belts off, spark plugs out as well as all the other bits to get to said items!

power is down in my workshop and some of this has been done in the dark!

all so I can turn the engine over and listen to the bearings on the crank! Good news no nasty sounds at all from the crank, idler lay shaft or the clutch bearings so it looks like I got away with this one lightly all parts of the flywheel shim are accounted for!

I have on order all the parts that went south, all I need is the time to put her back together and take some photos for you lot

  12. I purchased an ST2 engine some years back as a parts donor.

When I stripped it down I found what turned out to be part of the large washer behind the flywheel in the sump but there was no damage to anything else, so it's not unheard of.

  13. Its the 3rd time it’s gone the last time was the reason I had to rebuild the bike, the bits of shim went into the gearbox 1st and second gear!
It stripped the gears and all of those bits went in the horizontal cylinder! Oh what fun

  14. The parts I recovered apart from one part of the shim....I dropped it and really can’t be arced to hunt it out!

photos of the bike to follow and also the rebuild and how I go about it! Cover your eyes if dr who scares you

  15. Ok my fellow money chuckers

I actually took some photos for you, the first shows the starter clutch assembly being.....well......assembled!

The next shows the new starter motor being installed! With 749/999 starter gear on the end, the next transfer gear is off a 749/999 also! Then on goes the starter clutch assembly and the fly wheel! Oem item for the moment.
Next I need to repair a stator wire ( just as the wire goes into the rubber on the engine case!! Then I can close up that side of the engine

  16. the larger diameter face where the sprag clutch bears is showing advanced wear. I'm surprised that you got it to work for so long.
