It's a no brainer for me.....the red one.

 

Which kid would you keep?

 

Yellow 999, because it's the better colour and 999's look better and less aged than the 996 shape.

 

996 all day long mate

Both nice bikes, if it were a second/occasional use bike I'd keep the 996

 

Depends a little on your riding, or your investment, or your appreciation of the bikes looks!
