That has to be the most brutal qualifying session ever! But what was the cause of them all crashing at the same part of track? Bumps or tyres? Just hope they sort it out before tomorrows race or there'll be about 10 riders left for Bruno next week. Here's hoping Casey, Nicky and Ben are all fit enough to race too!
He was knocked out and was saying funny stuff to rossi in the garage after he returned from crash. Spies will try to race. Nothing about Casey yet.
That's not good, hope he's ok soon. Ben will give it his all just like he did in qualifying, just hope it doesn't end the same way! Much as I'm not a Stoner fan, but that's more to do with his attitude I hope he does race as he will have a point to prove.
The riders Safety commission riders reps Lorenzo, Pedders and Rossi have called a meeting about the crap circuit conditions. Call the race meeting off before someone is killed! FFS
If its the track that's at fault then unless they can remedy it very quickly, then I agree they shouldn't race.
Bollocks. They are professionals. They should know where they can or cannot go balls out. What can make a track that unsafe to cancel a race?! GP is becoming a westend farce
No and they know whete the exact limit is, unlike 95% of club racers. And thats the point. Ride to the limits of the bike, the tyres, the rider and the track. Thats why they are paid the big bucks
It's a sport, since when should sportsman risk their lives for our entertainment? If it's not safe don't race, I don't watch bike racing to see people killed or seriously injured. Yes they know the risks involved, and it seems this time they're too great.
Stoners Crash BBC Sport - MotoGP: Casey Stoner crashes out of Indianapolis qualifying Same corner which has claimed all the crash's today, At least the marshalls used a stretcher unlike yesterday with hector!!
I heard he told Rossi to get away from him since his medical doctoring was even worse than his bike doctoring.
its good (if the term can ever be applied to something like this) that the Yamaha team reacted with concern for a competitor, rather than joy their rival may be out. I've said it many times, away from football and the shameful displays those idiots provide, sportsmanship is very much alive and well, possibly more so today than ever. The Olympics also demonstrated this.
I have decided that the difference between football and just about any other sport, is that it's not really about sport. It's about tribalism and identity. You feel part of something following a team. I suspect that religion is not dissimilar in some places, which is why you always hear Muslims talk about their "brothers" is distant lands. It's just a basic human need to belong to a gang of some sort. Still, back to the racing....
My brother in law was a huge Aston Villa fan, some time ago some wag came up with the idea that Football was his church Aston Villa was his God etc etc, it got pretty dull as you can imagine. The rub is tho, I guess my Church is Bike Racing, Ducati my Religion, Borgo Panigale the promised land and Fabio Taglioni my God! You have permission to shoot...
Don't think I'll get the gun out just yet!! Not too sure on the religion analogy though but hey! There's no doubt that riding a Duke is an out of this world experience so maybe you're right! Now I'm just confused :-(
