A major service on a Ducati 748 for example can be upwards of £750 at main dealer rates, but over here lots of dealers do a fixed price thing on older bikes. I remember paying £600 for a major on my 748. 749 would be slightly less as it's a bit newer and potentially things are laid out better. In general the newer the model the cheaper they are to service with longer intervals. I say in 'General'..... There will be exceptions. I think the 2 valve stuff like Monster 696/796/1100 would be cheaper also to service, no fairings and simpler Cam arrangement (being single Cam). If you are spending £3500/Euros' on a Ducati then be prepared for it to need preventative maintenance.
