Good point re injectors. I was just working my way through the fuel system replacing what was needed after her 25 year lay up so I just got it into my head the might need a clean out.
So I’ve got my hands on a set of used throttle bodies and have removed the injectors. I’ve also rigged up a 9V battery and I can hear them click. So my question is. how do you guys test them is it a matter of just spraying the brake cleaner around the fine mesh filter near the top or is that a dumb idea?
You can clean them with brake cleaner and compressed air whilst keeping them open with the battery. As for testing, you'll need a different set up with a tank, pump, regulator, power supply and signal generator. With that you can check the volume they inject as well as the spray pattern.
Ah I see. Well that’s wayyyyy beyond my capabilities I’ll settle for cleaning them through then. Thanks for the help lads. One more question can the wee roll pins be pushed out to remove the main feed pipes for ultrasonic cleaning or can they be left on.
Those roll pins can be removed and refitted I would advise getting a set of the correct "punches" to do it.
