Insurance

  1. Insurance has got to be the biggest scam around. How prices can vary so much when you give all the same details amazes me. How they can suddenly slash 100 quid off your renewal by picking up the phone shows they just make it up as they go along. For what its worth I have had awful service from Royal sun alliance and Zurich when dealing with non fault claims, avoid at all costs.

  2. After much time on the phone and online to various Ins companies I re negotiated my renewal quote with Carole nash.
They also seem to be one of the few companies that will do a multi bike policy which can contain both classic and modern bikes.
They will also do an agreed valuation on my old Brits.

  3. Well I've just had another chat with carol nash, and it turns out that is all because my 2005 Ducati 749 with termis is more desirable than my 2010 Street Triple R with arrows (but everyone here knew that).

Well that's good to know but an insurance quote of £6000 for a bike that I rode for 5 years with no problems when my insurance premium was £500 is a bit much.

I appreciate that I have moved house and not ridden for 2 years, but given that they are happy to insure me fully comp on the triple and not on the duke is just mad.

  4. MCE are currently offering 15 months for the price of 12, even on their multi-bike policies. The guy at the Post Office thought my certificate was suspicious when he saw April 2013 to July 2014 when I taxed my bikes

  5. I have been with just about everyone over the past years and Ducati Insurance 'were' the most efficient but they could not match others over the past three or four years. Last year I went with an irish company called Adelaide. They were insurance company of the year a couple of times and were great when I spoke to them plus they guarantee to beat your lowest quote by 10%. You can call them on 028 9044 220 if anyone wants to give them a go. My insurance fully comp, protected with legal and breakdown on a 2008 Ducati 848 was about £138 for the year. https://www.adelaideinsurance.com/
