  2. Yes, viscous friction, which saps (a bit) of power. The main advantage for dry clutch is cleaner oil. Plus cooler oil. All that pesky dust and heat is outside. Also, ease of maintenance. You’ll notice all MotoGP bikes have dry clutch set up.

    The drawback is longevity. A wet clutch plate pack will last longer.
