After a degree of optimism and mild satisfaction with the qualifying session for the Jerez round of the 2013 Moto GP season, the end result for Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso was not as successful as expected. A qualifying session that had some difficult conditions in the afternoon following some intense heat and what was marred with a few crashes, the Ducati camp had hoped to improve on their 7th and 9th times on the main event however this was not to be. Hayden fared the same in the main event by finishing 7th with a time of 45m 43.264s while Dovizioso improved slightly bringing himself up to 8th and a time of 45m 59.513s. Dani Pedrosa, of Honda, won in convincing fashion and, indeed, Ducati's main rivals Honda and Yamaha took the first 4 places which is not at all positive news for the Italian outfit. Ducati's attention will now turn to France and Le Mans on May 19th and they will be hoping for a better outing later this month. Final Standings: 1.
