Khan was on R4 this morning justifying it. Wood burners are next people, he is already trying to ban them at certain times and are reported as responsible for a farm far, far larger amount of the pollution than a few old jags and pugs.
It’ll hit those who can least afford it most as their likely to have older vehicles. False plates anyone?
Find out what car Khan drives/owns, get the same car he owns from a hire company, put his plates on it so they match, then drive around London setting off every speed camera you can and zig zag across the congestion zone like a whippet on a field.
Guy in my firm is best of buddies with Khan, they go to GQ awards and a load of other do’s along those lines. As an outsider seems Khan loves the “lovey” lifestyle and anything associated with it.
That twat appears when a camera is about but hides when real people appear, he'd love to be the governor of California if he could get away with it.
I saw a funny comparison last night on the box, a 2005 daewoo matiz with a 796cc engine with a cat will pay the extra £10 T charge but a brand new Lamborghini aventador 6.5 v8 with a cat, will not.
This is the real kicker, coming soon too: 2021: Expanding ULEZ up to North & South Circular for cars, vans, minibuses and motorbikes
Sounds a bit flawed then. I'm sure Khan's pals from Dubai that swan about London in their supercars will approve.
"The ULEZ will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within the same area as the current Congestion Charging Zone (CCZ), and comes into force in September 2020" The ULEZ standards are: Euro 3 for motorcycles Euro 4 for petrol cars, vans and minibuses Euro 6 for diesel cars, vans and minibuses Euro VI for lorries, buses and coaches He (Khan) has more than doubled funding spent on tackling air quality to £875 million over the next five years. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone
I thank you for opening the Grenfell door Mike Didn't you find it weird how with Grenfell it went straight from Borough council to government whilst the mayor of London for the most part, was noticeably absent? He has at his disposal 32 london boroughs all of which he could have asked to pitch in and help the swamped Council instead, he largely hid and when caught, bypassed his role and responsibility to Londoners as their mayor.
Grenfell : Rehousing all 196 households who have been left homeless. The council says this spending on buying properties or building new ones comes to £155m http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41724262 WTF is going on? I love how these personally-unaccountable civil servants spend money like dish water
go on - in what way is that in his power? How is that in his role (bear in mind he is constrained by statute). What services could he have called on? How would the other London boroughs have helped? Why was the council swamped? and no, I don't think it weird that a national-level issue went straight to national government. I think it much weirder that Kahn visited the scene, the Queen visited the scene, the PM sent her sidekick. That's weird.
This isnt a Grenfell thread. Take it elsewhere please, theres also already a thread for you lot to moan about Khan being a Muslim Im sure.
