  1. Here’s what I think happened

A deranged leprechaun possessed Noddy Holder, dropped some acid, and banged Diana Ross - the offspring of that unholy union was then adopted by a travelling troop of Australian drag queens.

After years of experimental drug use and performing show tunes, said offspring set off to find his roots on the Emerald isle. There he found lots of half brothers and sisters. (it was a fucking horny leprechaun)

His newfound siblings liked dags and caravans and shiny things but most of all they liked horses. They taught our hero all about tarting up a drab pony with a bit of boot polish and some nice ribbons to distract an unwary buyer and fetch a higher price.

Fast forward to the present day and our hero has bike with a questionable pedigree to sell. So using all of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout his travels he broke out the rattle cans and got to work, happily singing along to Beyoncé in his favourite frock. In between long drags on his crack pipe he could hear his dad’s voice in his head ‘just a little more gold son’………

    :yum

  6. Interestingly OP hadn’t logged back on since posting.
He may have a shock when he does. Whoever applied the gold insulation on exhausts needs their eyes checked.
    Bloody horrendous.
I would be interested to see a breakdown on where the £15k was spent. I smell BS.

  7. Probably 10k in 18 carats of Gold foil:D….. And a few grand in some Humbrol gold leaf and fire engine Red gloss paint. Truly a one off! Unique and probably very desirable to someone that’s colour blind :astonished::eek:

Still it’s keeping everyone amused! Even if it’s not to most people’s tastes it’s definitely a good talking point  and a valuable lesson on how not to go about adding some upgrades to your beloved bike:bucktooth:

  10. isn’t like £15k in Irish currency, like 3 pack of potatoes, a barrel of Guinness, an old WW2 Grenade and a tub of Semtex?

  13. Each to their own and “I’m out”, but what on earth was the front mudguard painted with, a paint roller and emulsion?

  14. Gold DE tape is pretty pricey. But it is ineffective as it has been installed on the exhaust. It is the gold that reflects the radiant heat. Not the other adhesive side.

  15. being a sceptical person like I am,
for me it just looks like a written off 1199 with 'acquired' parts from a Panigale R.. as it doesn't make sense to buy forks but not rear shock.. R fairing and front fairing holder, R Forks with MUPO cartridges, R rear Axle pivot, and Engine side plates, Ally Tank?, R road Akrapovic exhaust.. paired to Standard Wheels, rear shock and 1199 motor ... smells fishy to me

I have seen a few bikes dressed up to hide a suspect past and this one stinks of it.. ( happy to be proved wrong..)
who fits an adjustable swingarm pivot and leaves it on +2 setting ...
and random hand painted parts, bolts etc... need i say more...

  17. Few years back there was a 1098 on one of the US forums 'dressed' in the same manner. The owner/creator was seeking help as the engine appeared to have blown.
I got all sorts of blow back, when I suggested the poor bike had most probably self-destructed....:astonished:

  19. I get the impression from the wording that even the Bike specialists copywriter is finding is hard to sell it with a straight face.

“Here we have for sale the most unique Ducati 1199S Panigale we have ever laid eyes on!”

“although we appreciate it might not be to everyone's liking this "one off" really does need to be seen to be believed.”

It’s certainly unique and has to been seen to be believed! ;)

I wonder if it actually turns people to stone if they look at it directly?
