Each to their own, but standard 1098/1198R (for example, although older) had only 6 "bobbins", the fact that the Suzuki has 5xbobbins and 5x"T" drive could be described as "belt & braces" in comparison.

 

Ask Brembo. They make them, not Suzuki nor any other sub-par manufacturer you would care to name

 

The t drive discs are far superior to bobbins I don’t get why they would go half and half go fully t drive fantastic ..
