I was at the Imatra GP in 1973, when Agostini and Phil Read were competing with their 3-cyl Augustas...I'll never forget the magnificent roar from the Augustas... There was no pit lane, paddock or anything, MV Augusta hade simply rented a Shell petrol station where they kept their bikes. Anybody could just walk in, very few knew about it so there was no crowd, and suddenly I found myself close to Agostini. Times were different then...
I watched the coverage on itv4, a good watch, two episodes. As road racing goes, it's quite open with good run off and limited road furniture. Southern 100 on itv4 next week.
