79... Blue 3 speed Grifter, impossible to wheelie as they weighed about the same as that pile of crap @JAT rides.
i was building an SS50 from a box of bits i found in the garage. i must of done hunners o thoosands of miles on that bike. back and forth on a disused railway track from my home to lochwinnoch. the good ol days.
'79 my rock 'n' roll days were over, father of two boys but still kept the two wheels pre-unit Bonnie.
Ah!! that's who it was! I can't remember, is that the year Devo were also on? Jefferson Starship? (didn't show).
I have no idea T - but wondering if it was Woodstock? (nope - '69) so.. Isle of Wight? - first festival?
excellent- wish I had gone but you are my senior here, I wouldn't have made it unless with a musical family (no, not the Von Trappe).
Was this 78 Knebworth? When I was supposed to go see Genesis and got grounded at the last minute? Devo were there but not well received according to my mate.
might be already detailed on this Forum:- At one point they stopped mid-song and welcomed the boo-ing saying "bring it on (WTTE) this is Devolution". This was not a good idea.. A party 7 which must have had at least a third left in it was hurled at the stage, rotating and spraying as it went, from quite a way back and narrowly missing band members (you know what i mean). It might have been Watneys Red Barrel? but to waste even this served as a measure as to how much disdain was being expressed here. In a pre-camera'd/massive security world the organisers (Harvey?) did well to seek out, recognise and pull out the protagonist. from the Daily Sun:
Around that time I had an angry red chopper. Oh to be young. Though I was taking an interest in zep 2, 4 and the song remains the same......on vinyl.
