I removed my left hand black fairing piece to try and locate the wiring for the sat nav at the front of the bike. It’s the piece that says Ducati on it that screws under the emergency access cover. It just slides forward which it did without issue. After not being able to locate the wire I was after, I attempted to slide the piece back on. Oh my what a going on. The two side clips no problem but the piece that slips into the front of the bike doesn’t seem long enough to hold it in place leaving it sticking out loosely at the front. Is there a technique I’m missing? It just seems not long enough to actually reach the connecting part. The screws are back in situ. The side clips are in but not the front. I tried pulling the front on first but obviously as soon as a connected the sides it slid off. Frustrated it’s a month old bike!
The less force you use, the easier it goes on. Try to get tabs all lined up (using your sense of 3D space). Be patient and suddenly you'll find it slips right into place with the minimum of effort. Only then install the screws.
Hope you have managed to fit your fairing. If not, then try out the tricks on the following thread; Good luck https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/intake-fairing-fitting.76260/page-2#post-1720714
