Lightweight Flywheel

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by ajw_888, May 25, 2019.

  1. Hi, I'm new to the Hypermotard 1100S,

I see KBike.it have 2 options for lightweight flywheels. I am tempted to get one to help the engine spin up etc.
    1. What is the standard weight?
    2. What are peoples thoughts on the .5 and .8 kg?
    3. Pros and Cons?

To give you some context, I race a SXV550 with lightened flywheel and stator.

    cheers

  2. The only real downside is that it can make the bike stall easily when pulling up to a junction or when pulling away.

  3. i would drop the gearing, that'll make it rev freely..

cant see the point of a lightened flywheel in a hypermotard... i have one in my 1098R motor for track but i wouldn't for road..

  4. Doing the gearing too.
