Motogp desperately needs a competitive Rossi next year. Without Stoner, Lorenzo will have it all his own way otherwise and we wont see any overtaking at all at the front.
I think they should reduce the electronic aids on the bikes, take out things like anti-wheelie and traction control and see then who can really get the best from the bike. That might also tempt Stoner back to enjoy some real racing.
I'd just scrap the control tyre rule open that up and it could be anyone's championship to win or lose.
Great news if he goes back to Yamaha, Ducatio failed to get there act together and it will be great to see him back on the podium Great news also for Moto GP as his fan base is huge
Niall McKenzie tweeting that Rossi back to Yamaha is a done deal. Italian press say Rossi to Yamaha - Motorcycle racing news: Moto GP - Visordown
Twitter is full of opinion based on little fact, don't get me wrong if it comes from the horses mouth that's fine but other than that it's for people who just wanna say stuff for sayings sake. Kinda like forums
Probably the reason that pushed his decision Valentino Rossi of Ducati says that it is difficult to remain confident after a crash
Hers something I posted elsewhere but I personally think it sheds light on the so called 'development' and 'changes requested' but not done as asked thing. Make of it what you will but.... Well, hardcore Rossi fans will always say he's right to ask them to change because he's the best, that's fine if people want to think that. For me (being very similar in attitude and outlook) appreciate and understand what Casey is saying in his interviews, that's why I think Ducati have finally figured it out with the junior team, you have to be prepared to adapt and I'm not convinced the Rossi side of the garage have tried very hard to do so other post : I'm not convinced it's all Ducatis fault to be honest. When Casey was there he got nil upgrades, zero...zilch.....sod all! Rossi has had upgrade upon upgrade but if what he & JB are requesting merely translates to 'make me a Yamaha feeling bike' then frankly it's never really going to work like that. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with yamahas (I've owned plenty and am looking at a 2002 R1 track bike) but Ducati have to have some pride in what they've produced in the past and what they've achieved all be it in different classes against huge jap factories (back then it really was david vs goliath) I'll be the first to admit and always have done that I'm a HUGE Casey stoner fan, it's not to do with whether he signs autographs, waves at the camera or acts a good little boy for Dorna, I just like his honesty and aggression when riding. Below are a couple of pages from an interview (some missing so buy it...it's worth it) MCN Sport (iPad digital edition) they ran with Casey in the last issue (incase you want to sue me MCN I'm actually promoting what a great digital magazine it is..... In fact it's the best without doubt) Read what he's says (your looking bottom right of the first page of text and top left of the 2nd page for continuation) I think he sums it up well, as a rider it's you that has to adapt. Forget pride, forget what you think you know and make the way the bike feels work for you. In my mind neither JB nor Rossi has done that or even attempted it, they've so far used they're reputation and thrown some toys out of prams to get drastic wholesale changes..... Maybe that's the problem although I'm sure it's not all of it.
Casey ..if your reading this, please do some development for ducati... C'mon mate, if they listen to you and give you a few upgrades then perhaps we might get somewhere. Ps- not everybody hates you bud
I think he needs to look long and hard at his attitude to others and life as to why he feels no one likes him.
Not at all. He bad mouths pretty much anyone and everyone and then wonders why he keeps getting the shitty end of the stick? He admits himself the problem started long before Motogp and even the internet forums started.
Now that i can believe. Burgess said the other day, the bike Rossi is riding now is almost identical to the one he ran at the start of the season, despite requests for changes.. Preziosi's philosophy appear to be the bike doesn't need any changes and you just have to ride it as i feel is right.
But other than you not liking Casey do you believe his view on what needs to be done to ride a GP Ducati? Thats all I'm pointing out really, Its not a 'Rossis Shit' post, it's trying to put some intelligent perspective on the situation. For example, do you think Ducati should change everything possible to make Rossi comfortable and give him the feeling of the M1? Or Do you think that as 'professional' GP riders they should adapt to suit? Is Rossi void from such expectations simply because of titles? As Stoner has won titles on multiple manufacturers bikes and still dosnt slate the Ducati does that mean his opinion is any less valid? I'm just trying to point out that even though a Motogp champion had a rough few years at Ducati he still honestly believes that the bike is capable if ridden without pride or preconception, he's no reason to sugar coat as he's off and frankly when has stoner ever sugar coated a situation. So all I'm saying is if he honestly thinks that (and had great success) then surely there's mileage in that? Therefore are we saying Rossi hasn't tried to adapt? Failed to adapt? Or can't adapt as well? Sometimes you simply can't teach an old dog new tricks, perhaps Rossi is no good for Ducati not the other way round. Ducati now need somebody fresh riding that bike cos I'm pretty confident if Scott redding can get within 1.5 seconds of Rossi on his first ever day on a dirty track somebody else with GP experience could do better than VR on a regular basis.
