M8 Bobbins Did Not Fit

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Rich 950S, Jul 19, 2025.

  1. R&G part number said M8 but :-

Ordered Oxford ones from SBS they didn't fit, too thick a thread!

Anyone know or recommend before Ire-order?

    Thanks All

  2. I'm not sure anyone would be able to make an informed analysis from the information provided.

    What bike are they for?
By too thick a thread, do you mean too large a diameter, wrong tolerance class or wrong pitch?
    Pictures always help

  3. Oxford M8 bobbins are sold in 2 thread sizes, M8 x 1 and M8 x 1.25. From what I can find on the internet, the 698 has an M8 x 1.25 thread. Andy

  4. LOL, yes sorry rushed it.
    698 hyper 2024

Yes diameter appeared to be too large.
The thread would start though ...

  5. Hi thanks,
    That's got to be it.
I got the m8x1.0 and initially it started to thread in.
And then gave the impression it was too large in diameter.

    Kindest Regards
    Richard

  6. Order the Evotech. Better quality to my mind.

  7. Yes I usually only ever use Evotech for everything but they were out of stock at the time.
I'm waiting for their Tail Tidy atm.

    Kindest Regards
