No CCTV around I suppose? cos' whoever dropped the ply has a degree of culpability Whatever, hope you heal quickly and buy a lottery ticket!
UPDATE : Just got the bike back after being charged £816 for recovery Cracked nose cone , broken right handguard , broken rear hugger, broken numberplate assembly , errrrr and thats it. Got it off the truck and it fired first time , mate rode it into the garage ! I will probably send it to a dealer to have it done and checked over . Pics to come !
Glad your OK - the bike seems not so bad either. Wouldn't your AA or RAC have recovered it or the Ducati Roadside coverage? A few months back I had a similar near miss with a large chunk of ply at a roundabout - coming in breaking (a little too hot if I am honest) and there was a 18" x 18" piece of ply - managed to just get off the brakes and turn - just clipped it. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Had similar myself on a bend leading to a motorway slip road. It wasn't ply though it was sheet plastic. Was very lucky to change lanes and avoid it.
GWS dude, glad you and the bike aren't too bad, you'll be back on it in weeks.... hate the twunts that don't secure their shit... I've seen a 6x4 on the M4 and was nearly hit by one of those plastic flexi buckets that fell off a builders van at about 70 and rolled across the whole m'way!.... surely you can claim from somewehere as it was obviously not your fault... I'm sure someone on here will have some info??
dam dude! This sucks.glad you are largely in one piece and seem to be in good spirits. All the best with a speedy recovery and I hope you get some sorta justice
