1200 Pikes Peak Man Down :-(

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by GaryO, Jul 29, 2016.

  1. It's not a claim, but it is an accident. Put my GSXR insurance up £20 TPFT when they discovered I had an 'accident" in the car (even though I was 5miles away from it). Not horrendous, but they will know.

  2. Did that beat Evel Kenevils Wembley jump!
Looks like you landed in the Brazillian rain forest, that's Gotta be a few thousand miles away, call the Guiness Book of Records!
Hope the ribs mend quickly, I broke mine falling off York Minster, would have been fine but my mate fell on top of me :(
    GWS!

  3. Bollocks to that, if you make a claim tell the, all,if you don't (would you tell them if you dropped it in the garage?!) then you dont.

  4. Why would you not claim on insurance anyway? That could be a write off (any nicks on the frame?) and unless you tepair perfectly will affect resales value.

  5. Cause if it's damage of below 1k depending from your cover 300 to 400 gbp will be excess. Then 5y telling them accident, not my fault, 3rd party on found will be more then 60p in premium

  6. It's like giving them % free loan

  7. My car got hit while parked. I returned to it to find back end bashed in and no note. Informed the insurance company as wasn't sure to claim or not. Decided not to claim and forget about it.

6 months later I take out new bike insurance and don't mention it and then get a call from the bike insurers to say I'd had an accident and needed to state it.

  8. That's different. You chose not to claim so had to tell them as it would have affected a later claim.

  9. 20151019_111856.jpg All the best dude....get well soon.
It will be a sad day if they scrap it.....here's mine heading off.

  10. Only just seen this thread......hope you're well on the way to a full recovery Gary and that the Mutley is repaired and ready to go again or your Insurance has paid out a fair deal for a replacement bike!

10 foot drop, barbed wire and walls............I'm sure it hasn't felt like it but sounds like you got off lucky!

  15. Close, hire of a crane to lift it out of the ditch

  16. Maybe the Mutley Enduro should have a winch option as part of an 'off road' pack?

  18. Hope you are starting to feel something like.

Ribs are a bugger. I've done mine twice and it's something I'm keen not to repeat.

Let's see some pics of the bike when it's done. It's sounding good.
