Thanks @higgy748 . This post also appeared on my FB as well few minutes later. Have found them offered also in white, but no one has yet managed to replicate Marchesini's original gold colour in order to have them re-done in gold (being the desired colour of preference). The search therefore continues ...
I find this “gold aluminum 5-spoke wheels” quest intriguing. So I went and checked in my various Special Parts & Accessories catalogs. - Dec. 95 - Ducati catalog: nothing, no wheels offered. - August 03 - Ducati Performance : only the FRONT aluminum wheel, offered in gold (968075AAA) or black (968076AAA). No trace of a rear wheel, which seems odd… - 1996 Gio.ca catalog: only mags. - 2000 Rory Simpson: only mags. Looks like you might be looking for what we call a “5-legged sheep”, here in France…
Rory Simpson from Simpson Mechanique? Met him at the Ducati Club de France 25ieme Anniversaire at Val de Vienne around 2000. What a piss up that was!
Thank you @Shorty4045. I've spotted these for quite some time but their dimensions are indeed challenging for tyres nowadays.
Here you go @Guillaume69. You may run the part codes for confirmation on the "all" indication which refers to forged aluminium. Looking for gold magnesium as choice of preference (but will settle for the forged aluminium if the first prove difficult to source).
Yep, this Rory. He had a great shop near Montpellier in the 90’s to early 2000 timeframe. Then he threw it all away for some reason (some argument about becoming a Ducati Store, allegedly…) His catalogs were amazing and looking at them today is almost unbearable. Ducati porn at its best. I have a paper copy of the 2000 and a pdf version of the 1997. Check here and warn your wifey! https://www.desmodue-garage.fr/catalogue-ducati/
@Guillaume69 it crops up on many DP catalogues and the part code itself is repeated (but not depicted) in many more. Being in possession of nearly all DP catalogues in hard copy originals, I have found that not all .pdf files of the DP catalogues in circulation are complete true copies of their period correct printed counterparts.
Oh my 2003 DP catalog is a paper copy. Like the others. But that’s the only year I have and no mention of the rear…
